Vex (Celestra Series) Paperback – November 16, 2015

****spoiler alert******bewareThis is my first review ever on a book. I read almost a book a day and I am constantly looking for new series out there that intrigue me. This is one series that does! Even though it feels like it is meant for teenagers, I was hooked on the first of these books and couldn't wait for the next one. I am eagerly waiting for book #6!First of all, when reading this book, it feels like I am in another place and time, and that is what I really like about this author. A good book should make you think about it all day long until you are finished!Oh Skyla! As the main character of this book, I can almost feel her pain in loving one man while still unsure if she loves another man. Many women have been there. Hard choices. Gage just makes me wish more men were like him. It's also intriguing about his powers but I admire his love for Skyla, even if he pretends to like Chloe. Such drama! That's why I read. Our real lives could never be this fun. I really like how the author brought Ezrina into the picture.....and how someone so evil once loved so deeply....who knew it would be Nevermore, Skyla's black raven? There are still so many questions I have about Marshall and the Counts, but hopefully the author will explain more in the next book. Chloe. Now that is one crazy girl. She keeps me guessing on what she will do next and I generally have a serious dislike for her, and it's just a book! Fun book to read...easy to get hooked into the series. I recommend it if you like a quick page turner. Never boring!

Okay I didn't have a problem with this book. It was the longest of the series and it still kept me glued..To those saying Skyla is a liar and a slut. Did we read the same book?? The most sexual she got was with Gage her boyfriend. There's been a love triangle from the beginning! She does love Gage and she never got a chance with Logan the person she started off with and there was no closure. She's also hurt by him that's where her anger comes in! Skyla is a young girl. If you remember being young you know the heart takes you many places before you land in the right place. Remember being a teenager is tough and confusing! I dont think she's a SLUT either do people not know the definition of a slut? It's someone who SLEEPS around with multiple people and dont blink an eye lash to the fact they did it. C'mon guys it's a fun book stop being so serious about it. Yeah Skyla gets on my nerves too sometimes, but I think that's the point. Also Logan and Marshall both basically kiss her without her permission in this book. Marshall always has. He manipulates her throughout the whole series. Also the lying part I dont understand. She doesn't really lie, she's in a delima b/c she knows it'll hurt Gage. But she's also trying to fight to keep him and going to any length to do it. Also remember she never goes through with it!!! Marshall never really gives her very many options here. I think this book focused more on building the characters and setting up the next book which is probably going to get more serious as it leads to the finale. I'm still in love with this series and the characters. Not everything is rainbows and butterflies and as things get thick on this island, people are getting desperate and fighting for who they love. Anyway that's just my opinion! I can't wait to find out what happens next. I do ask everyone who is being so negative to please remember it's a fantasy and meant for entertainment stop taking things so serious and pay attention to what's really going on in this book!

I read a few reviews last night as I was buying this book, and I was confused to see some were upset, but now I get it. At first I was Team Logan, then switched to Team Gage, and through the first 4 books, I went back and forth, but now.... (****SEMI-SPOILERS****)I'm Team NO ONE. I don't think Skyla actually deserves either of them because she did get pretty close to slutty in this book, without actually losing her virginity. I get it, I know there was a reason for most of it, I just think the fact that she, herself, can't decide between her trifecta of hot men doesn't make it okay for her to kiss them all, or be naked with them, while still professing her undying, endless love to Gage. It's not fair and it's selfish of her to get jealous when she even thinks of them with others, yet strings them all along anyway. Plus she's just a big fat liar - to EVERYONE!!!BUT....I still love it!! In fact, it's almost part of the reason I do love it. She's making such a huge mess of her own life, Chloe really doesn't need to do anything. It's suspenseful and awesome, and while I agree it didn't do much to move the story along, and that some of the time travel got confusing, I'm still dying to find out what happens next!! These books have the best cliffhangers! Is #6 going to be the last one? I can't wait to see how the battle pans out... :)I only hope poor Gage ends up with someone who deserves him.

I'm tired of the Celestra story now, the writer is taking far too long to get to the point in these books, descriptions seem to be getting out of hand. She's supposed to be 16/17? and all she does is roll around with four different guys, she used to be strong, now shes whiny and throws herself at almost anybody 'ohhh Gage is my forever' 'Ohh but I could see me marrying Marshall.' 'Ohhh Logan is the one I should be with' 'Ohh I wonder what it would be like with Ellis' Sorry, but lets face it, the video that Chloe showed might have been a vindictive assault on Skyla's relationship with Gage, but for gods sake it was all bloody real, she whores herself about and then cries because her boyfriend found out about it, there's an important war going on but her problems always seem to take center stage. Logan was slowly dying and Skyla pranced around in dresses and cried over Gage! Grow up!

I must admit that i got the first book free and that kind of hooked me in. Had to get them all as had to know what happened, i would say books 4, 5 and 6 are a bit on the boring side copmpared to the others, nothing really happens to seriously move on the story nonetheless i did enjoy reading about the characters and finding out more about them and they did set up nicely for the final books in the series.

The first couple of books in this series I was really engaged. Now I regret ever starting to read them. The story is going nowhere, the lead character spends her life letting other people determine who she is and what she is doing, and then she complains about it. Totally fed up with this now, don't even care how it ends.

repetative. its a shame the author just keeps churning books out that blow you away and then seems to loose interest by book five,same old woe is me skyla, gabe still beimg chloes lp dog and nothing really happens...very dissapointed, ill wait for reviews on book six before i buy.

The more I read the older I feel yet I'm drawn into the suspense the plot and the romance I will definitely read the rest of the seris
