Know how to translate from old version to current version
Book is old. Version of OS has changed enough to making book difficult to say it is valuable. I needed it for Numbers and had a real problem. Guess i should have looked closer on the print date.

Great General Info book
It is not appropriate for in-depth Budget information. That is pretty much OJT.

Easy iWorks Defined
Apple's Pages is fast becoming a word processing tool used not only on their hardware but available for Microsoft Office products too. This MacGrawHill Education textbook written by Dwight Spivey eases it's way into the three productivity documents in Apple in an understandable manner. It's 300 pages illustrate the way iWork functions without too much verbiage. I picked this because of its emphasis on iOS, and the explanation on using it with iCloud. So far I learn a new process from the easy explanations. Good beginners book.

I have used many training books. Apple should take note and look at the way Adobe training books approach there products.Maybe it would make Apple improve the product capabilities. Apple is products are greatly inferior to Adobe products.

When you don't have the time to tutor, hand them this
I got this for my mother-in-law so I didn't have to explain how it works. She loved it and has been teaching herself the ins and outs of data manipulation. She is a complete tyro in spite of having a computer for a few years. She didn't know what a word processing program was and has been using Notes. Sigh.

OUTDATED
So old it is totally obsolete. They don't even admit which version of Pages they are covering, but the menus, selections, keystrokes, and structures they cover in this book were abandoned years ago. Pages is far more complex and capable than they admit. This book is totally outdated and useless. DO NOT BUY.Pages is currently on V10. I suspect this book is for V5.

Only the most basic information is provided
Having used Microsoft Office for years, and delved into "for Dummies" to work out the more specialised activities, that is what I was looking for. This does not deliver. And the tone is bordering on the trivial ...

This book is not for the beginner, will require reading several times, with regard to a topic and perhaps help from someone who can understand Apple's logic and computer symbols, hence the reason for the star rating, also as it came from America it did take some time but was within the time frame for arrival. Thanks.
