Q: I have a g80 locking rear differential 2003 chevy trailblazer ltz. do i need to add any friction modifiers to the differential oil?

Yes. I have a 2008 w/G80 diff. Owners manual clearly states SAE75W-90 Synthetic Axle lube (GM #89021677, replaced by 88900401) . "with a complete drain and refill add 5.5 ounces of Limited-Slip Axle lubricant additive" (GM #1052358, replaced by 88900330) Without the additive, you are subject to Chattering and Noise in the plates/clutches while turning.
