Fish out of water, but not a wussy
I first got to know this series from being fan translated online. Seeing it for sale, I immediately bought a copy to support the author. The main character is Isekai-ed, transferred to another reality/world. A trope as old as John Carter of Mars. One of the keys to how well one of these types of novels will be written is how well the author has the main character process this change. Rest assured, this main character has a very believable transition in that regard, and the author keeps the track of progress in a mostly believable and satisfying manner. It doesn't go in the direction of self-insert fulfillment, or intentionally scaled back stupidity. The main character is also the rare protagonist of these kinds of books that will accept the affection of a woman. There are no overt details, and there don't need to be. Consider it a fade to black or jump cut implied transition. But it gives the characters more emotional interaction and human believability in that there is no "convenient" block from them going all the way.The reason behind going all the way is pretty stupid, though.....*cough*It's a fun sci-fantasy universe romp with an author who plays Stellaris and an illustrator who can keep the anime art from going out of hand while having technology do-dads not feel out of place.I highly recommend this series for anyone interested in PG 13 and up. But, yeah, review the images first because there is "cheesecake" in this series.

Not for everyone
First of all, I apologies for any broken english on this review, english is not my tongue language. If you are looking for a serious story, than my bad this book isn't for you. The story is a bit cliche if you ask me where the mc got isekaid for some reason and starts his harem. If you're a casual reader where you just spend time reading for fun or just want some light story, well this book is actually great plus it's easy to read.About the physics and mechanic of ships on this book. For some one who plays Elite Dangerous, I can say that I'm actually at home. It's clear that the author is taking inspiration from Elite Dangerous since he actually plays the game. From the FTL and Hyperdrive (Frame Shift Drive in elite Dangerous), the controls of the ship, and so some of its weapons. Since I played the game as well, it's easy for me to understand the overall view of the author. My rating for this book is 7/10

A space mercenary with a capital M
Hiro, a Japanese man in his late 20s and IT worker, awakens in a freezing cockpit of a spaceship that only existed in his favorite videogame. Quickly turning on the life support and investigating his surroundings Hiro is set upon by space pirates. Quickly dispatching them he retrieves their valuables including info on their base of operations. After learning where the main hub of trade is he heads their and is questioned about his identity and the source of his very valuable cargo. Coming up with a backstory of having a hyperspace mishap that gives him amnesia he is rescued from the interrogation by a powerful member of the nobility and military leader. A very intimidating woman.Free to travel Hiro runs into the space Elf Elma who takes him under her wings and shows him the ropes. While shopping they witness a young girl being assaulted and against Elma's advice Hiro rescues her and entwine her in his life. They get her name ,Mimi, the backstory is that her parents died in an accident that she was held responsible for financially even though she was still a school student so she's quickly bankrupted and tossed to a dangerous zone known as the third district. Hiro pays for her meal, gets her clothes and also pays off her debt do she can join him on his ship.Spoiler and trigger warningThis is where the story takes a turn because up until now Elma was suggesting that Mimi become Hiros' equivalent of a sugar bunny. At first I thought this would be a running joke but the very first night she's on his ship she takes contraceptives and a pain killer because she is still a virgin that Elma bought her for this very reason. She goes to Hiros' quarters in a negligee and Elma messages Hiro to not make her feel unwanted and he very chivalrously takes full advantage of her.To make this creepier Hiro check out the age of consent is fifteen years old and I know Japan has a similar law but as a Westerner this all feels very icky and thankfully we don't go into explicit detail so this isn't a hentai but I felt unhappy for how the author was trying to make it no big deal that a fully grown man was coercing a teenager into being his girlfriend the very same day he saved her from a gang rape. That said I use to be a scumbag 20 something and to my shame I have to admit I don't know if the opportunity arose if I could have been chivalrous. If you can stomach Hiros' less than chivalrous actions towards women you get a mish mash of a Star Trek like universe with less than subtle nods to Outlaw Star with a Firefly/Star Wars aesthetic of desperate poverty and violence with hints of technology advancement that's nearly magical.

Low effort "good guy" protagonist
An antissocial japanese man finds himself inside a game world with cheat skills and proceeds to act accordingly.Somehow he can pilot a spaceship like an ace and fire his pistol with godly precision. No further explanations. As expected he can only develop relationships with women on the verge of death, after all, no sane and self-respecting human would be willing to get intimate with a loser that acts like a good guy but in fact has a trash personality.I guess it's a step up from the standard herbivore protagonist that just collects a harem of hopeless women but never touches them. But still very pathetic. Also he is addicted to carbonated drinks. Apparently that's the main thing in this novel.

Not your usual Isekai
Now having read some of the reviews for this one, and having actually read ahead via web novel, I would safely say this one is well worth the try if for any reason your not likely to see much like it, despite how a few people would describe the mc Hiro it really isn't your normal op mc isekai if anything its a very refreshing take with enough to ensure it stands on its own, and is well worth trying if not on series to follow.
