I am glad I bought it.
Awesome little soil screw 😁👍🏻. I purchased this nifty tool to pass a sprinkler line underneath my walkway. It did a fantastic job! It came with 2 yellow plastic dirt removers for cleaning. I don't know if it's steel or very hard aluminum, but it can take a beating. My drill actually ran hot after a few minutes so I switched to an electrical drill and it just punched through the dirt like an oil drill. The hole took me less than 5 minutes to make. My soil is hard clay and the screw performed well. Buy it if you need to do small jobs like this one.

Broke on the first day of use.
Did an okay job before it broke on the first day of use. Pretty dissapointing.

drilled through hard dirt with ease
Used to create holes 24" deep to bury 8' stakes to support newly planted fruit trees. This worked great. I dug three sets of holes before buying this. It took at least 20 minutes per hole to do it manually while taking less than 5 with this. The dirt has moderately hard and this punched through easily. Used with Milwaukee M18 Fuel hammer drill with side handle. Didn't initially have the side handle on but the drill spun out of my hand a couple of times. The side handle definitely gives you more control. The auger was in good shape after using it. No dings and the welds look fine.

Nice Auger
This tool works! We ordered 60 Bridal Wreath Spirea bushes for the property. Not wanting to dig 60 holes - we had to try this. We used a corded 1/2 drill because of their torque and they run cooler than cordless. Not saying cordless drill won't work though. This auger powered through everything. Our first 14 bushes were in the ground in under an hour. WOW ! We back filled each hole with fresh new black top soil.

new use for this tool
I could not use this tool for planting because my soil I so loose is immediately filled in the hole.however I use this tool to dig large weeds out of my garden like dandelion and tree of heaven which you must completely destroy the root

Difficult to Use in Rocky Soil
Living in South Florida, there are chunks of limestone rock in the soil. When the auger encounters a rock, the attached drill will twist violently. Care must be taken not to wrench your hands when the drill twists.

Worked for me!
I used this auger bit to drill pilot holes for my garden fence posts. The bit worked well for me. Saved my arms pounding the fence posts in the ground. Be careful to go slow if you are drilling deep, if you hit a rock or something secure it will give you a jolt. Strong bit that will take a beating.

Too feeble for serious planting
The auger is flimsy at best. It arrived way too late and when I tried to send back the postage charges were quoted at $54.00. Bought a better auger at Lee Hardware.
