Good quality for the hobbyist experimenter, good price, but not lab-grade heavy duty
This may not be what you would buy for a professional lab, but it will be great for doing experiments with my grandson now, and my granddaughter in 2 - 3 years. The rings are circular (not oval, per another review, but perhaps the feedback was heard) and I don't see any flaws. Nice chrome-like plated finish, black painted base. I'm pretty sure it will handle the weight of any experiments the kids and I perform.

Heavy base, works well
This is heavy enough to do the job I bought it for. Works well.

perfect for a pour over solution
I make coffee using pour over method and my cups and thermos's can be a variety of sizes. This solve that problem. I use kitchen galley hooks with it to just keep all my coffee related stuff hanging from it, ready to go. I wasn't sure it would be right when purchasing. But glad I did. It's quality and suits the purpose exactly. I know I sound like a sales person. Sorry. But this is truly a surprisingly good choice for my need.

A little flaw in the design but ok for the price
Main comment is that the 2 rings have shafts of the same length, so superposed items do not line up vertically. AA battery works fine in a pinch!

For the price, a great product
I needed a longer support for the inexpensive digital microscope I recently purchased and this unit works great. Good price, easy assembly, and quite solid. While the box was crushed when the delivery person put it in front of a garage door, instead of the front door where it was supposed to be, the unit survived and is perfect for what I wanted. Highly recommended.

Sturdy stand with good clamps and rings, but awful for laboratory use!
Lab stand is fairly sturdy and includes a wrench to help tighten it properly. However, it is pretty awful for a laboratory environment where it can come into contact with organic solvents. Acetone and DCM seem to wipe off the black layer off the metal base. This creates a sticky residue which can get stuck on the bottom of tubes and flasks. I will probably wrap the base in aluminum foil to help prevent this from happening.I am giving it 3 stars because the clamps and ring stands that come with it are nice, but do not buy if you intend to use in a laboratory.

Been using as a coffee filter stand
Sometimes the AI coffee machines break, and you have to go back to caveman ways of pouring boiled water directly into a coffee filter. The jenga'ing of stacking various tea boxes and other objects on which to suspend the mesh filter above the cup can get borderline dangerous. I no longer have to jenga the flimsy boxes in place and there is no danger of anything getting tipped over. The rings also haven't rusted with the constant coffee steam. The rings are adjustable for even the tallest, oversized coffee cup/mug/jug. Clean-up is, like, zero. I can even clamp or stand my phone on the rings. Cavemen are making a comeback. Still using the retort stand for coffee a year later
