D’Addario Soundhole Turner NS Mirco: A Highly Detailed Review ⬇️
The media could not be loaded. 📦📄Product Review Quick Summary: This product lacks in some functionality. This should only be used for somebody prone to light usage, something important, should not depend on this tuner. For the price it is discrete and has decent build quality. I recommend only for certain people, and this certain group of people is so specific that you will have to read more on this review to find out if you’re one of them. I address problems to specific to address in this quick summary. (📲 and scroll for Categorically Detailed Product Review)📦📑Categorically Detailed Product Review:⭕️I will rate the product 1 through 5 at the beginning of Categorically Detailed Product Review; categories to correlate with the star rating system on Amazon aswell as providing a more thorough and specific individualized category rating.⭕️The video or photo attachment showcases details discussed more further in the written review below; I advise watching. I may sometimes include time stamps next to key product points that coincide with a video that highlights that point.⭕️If review has a need to be updated, a date may be at the bottom to address that information.🎁Packaging 3/5: 3/5 is my most common rating for packaging and most average in general. It is not a bad thing, but it’s also not a great thing meaning that the packaging isn’t a premium unboxing experience, may not be giftable out of the box, or just does the bare minimum of what packaging should do. This explain some details along with a picture of the product which is all it needs to do however, it’s on the cheaper side of packaging.💪Durability Test and Build Quality 5/5: Durability is great, I have no gripes about that. The plastic does not feel like the cheap flimsy type of plastic. The Daddario logo, although it hasn’t happened to me yet seems like the type of logo/paint that will rub off during time. This thing will most likely not crack or die over a few drops although the battery does not have a cover, through my aggressive shaking and bumping, it’s held its place just fine. Also through normal use I’ve never had a problem with the battery.⚙️Functionality 2/5: This product meets the bare minimum that a quality item this price should have, and that’s it. The accuracy isn’t amazing and although I haven’t used many tuners, in my research of finding this one, the other tuners around this size didn’t have any better accuracy. Don’t let the small problem in the accuracy deter you from this product, it is most likely ideal for anybody interested in this size tuner. I did have the head stock version of this tuner though, the sound hole tuner is more accurate than the head stock tuner. is that this tuner is prone to coming off. If pressure is applied to the sides of the tuner. I demonstrated it by clipping it on a popsicle stick, this is only a little thinner than my classical guitar top. When I push on the sides of the tuner, the clip that holds it in place also goes to the side and eventually doesn’t have enough of it to cover the surface area on the top of the guitar and falls. This has happened to me much, but it did happen a few times. if the clip had a curve to it to cover more surface area on the guitar, this would’ve been fixed completely, even if it was a little less discreet. Holds pretty well on the guitar surface and won’t come off easily once the modification I addressed is done. In my guitar case which I am a little bit rough on if put down roughly, may cause the clip to come off due to too much force against it. The metal clip that clips to the bottom of the guitar top was not very good. This alone brought this product a whole number down in this rating. This isn’t a reason not to get this tuner, but this is something that should not have to fall on the customer. If there were some more engineering that went into this product modification would not be necessary. Check notes/extra a few scrolls below to get more details on this modification.🎯Accuracy to Product Display and Company Description 5/5: No gripes. This product is advertised accurately.🤑Value for Money 3/5: yet another average rating. This product is only what it should do for the price. I think it could be better built but if you want a discrete tuner, this is pretty much one of your only options it does a job well for average consumers, but it’s safe to say if you play every day, maybe for a crowd or you have a prestigious performance at Carnegie Hall this is not the one.📝Notes/Extra: Near the end of the review I show the side screwdriver, and the screw necessary to take out the clip that clips onto the guitar surface. When I first got this product the clip didn’t have very much tension. To fix that I simply took it off and use my finger to bend it so that when I put it back in it, put more tension on the plastic piece above that it puts its pressure on. Simply bend this piece with your fingers, this piece is thin and even if you want it to be as tight as possible do not use any tools such as pliers, you will snap this. I’ve bent it is hard as I could with my fingers into it left a little red mark and I can no longer push it. Although it doesn’t feel good on your fingers, this is the most tension you should put on it and it clipped perfect after. If you do not do this, it will most likely be loose on the guitar.

Practically invisible to everyone but me
Every acoustic guitar player should have this tune. It never falls off and gets lost. And I've had it 9 months and haven't had to replace the battery yet. When I do take it out I have to remember to turn the guitar upsidedown so it doesn't fall inside.

Loose fit? Make a cardboard shim.
When I received this tuner about 20 minutes ago, I had the same problem others had. I would press the power button and it would slip around. The fit was not very tight. Also, my low B string (it's a baritone guitar) wouldn't register very well. I had to hit the B rather hard to get it to track. So to fix this, I tightened the fit by using the cardboard that came with the tuner to create a shim to go between the guitar body and the clip. (See pictures.) I cut it to the shape of the clip so that it's not very visible unless you really look. The tightened fit also made the low B track better thanks to better transmission of the vibration from the clip to the peizo electric sensor. To me this seems like an understandable problem. They had to design the tuner to fit a wide range of guitars and some guitars have thicker tops than others. They had to accommodate the thickest possible top. If I were them, I would include some pre-made shims in the packaging for this circumstance. Then people would have nothing to complain about. But even then, it is a very easy problem to fix if you are creative and handy.

Good While it Lasted
Great while it lasted, but unfortunately after a few years the clip literally just fell apart and broke. I had it on the same guitar and never took it off but one day it just snapped and fell apart. It worked great until then but I wish they used a more durable material.
