Best billfold ever
I used the first “same” wallet for 8-9 years. It didn’t need replacement, but I wanted a new one for a friend and I replaced mine. Will use the spare wallet when I wash the other. Not flashy, but the best wallet I’ve ever carried. It is made of a course material and doesn’t slide out of your pocket. If you have an ID, it has a handy pocket on the outside, and the main wallet remains closed. Two places for paper money. I will never carry another brand or type of wallet.

Just Buy It!
This is the best wallet I've ever owned, and I'm on my second one now (the first one is still in great shape after a few years, but I got paint and crap all over it from work [which it resists very well, I might add, and can probably wash off]. I just wanted a new-looking one in a different color). The quality is amazing, and I love all the pockets. You can stash money and important cards and papers all over this thing. Sometimes I use the pockets for budgeting. This pocket for bills or rent, this pocket for spending, etc. Not only that, but it doesn't cost much more than a crappy wallet you'd get at Wal-Mart, and is of superior quality. Just buy it.***TWO YEARS LATER (Pic just added, 8/22, not from original review) and still going strong! If this one ever wears out in 5 or 10 years, I'm getting another. Maxpedition, you BETTER not discontinue this one! LoL

I like it but it's a bit long and I find ...
Just started using the Spartan Wallet. I like it but it's a bit long and I find the bill pocket is really deep. Has small velcro tabs to hold credit cards and ID's which is brilliant. My perfect wallet would be just a bit smaller, but I gave it 5 stars due to the quality construction, innovative pockets and the velcro tabs. The Mesh covers for the ID sections is cool, but don't know how durable it will be. Still, it's very well made.

Like a Backpack in Your Pocket
I've been meaning to get a new wallet for months, now, but, when I recently pulled out my wallet at Lowe's only to see my credit cards go sailing across the floor, I knew it was time to act! I went to all the usual places, but could only find more thin leather wallets with names like Hilfiger, Abboud, and Kors emblazoned across them. Having just had a similar wallet virtually disintegrate over the course of a year, I knew I wanted something heavy-duty. That's where the Maxpedition Spartan comes in. I'd read a bunch of reviews, and even watched a few "box openings" on YouTube, and it piqued my interest. I figured, for $17 bucks and change, I'd give it a shot, and ordered one. The wallet came super fast (thanks seller!) and, when I opened the package, I was shocked to see that it was more than two inches taller than the wallet it was destined to replace. I emptied out the overflowing contents of the ratty leather number and jammed them into the Maxpedition's myriad nooks and crannies. When I was done, the Maxpedition was about an inch thick, but still had plenty of space for more, including a nifty "hidden" pocket, numerous credit card slots, and a smartly divided area for currency. There's even a netted "window" on the outside of the wallet for my license."Sounds great, Head Cheeze! So why not five stars?" you ask.Well, I'll tell you why. While the Maxpedition does fit in my pocket, a good inch or so peaks out from it, making it a prime target for fast-fingered thieves! I began to consider various means of attaching a lanyard to it so I can at least clip it to a belt loop, but, sadly, the wallet doesn't have any sort of attachments to hook onto (unlike the Civilian Labs offerings, which I also considered). So, while I'm exceptionally pleased by the construction and roominess, I'm not thrilled about the so-enticing extra inch of wallet sticking out of my back pocket.

Maxpedition wallet
This is a great wallet. Most wallets that I have owned are decent enough eventually they are filled to capacity and beyond, however this maxpedition wallet holds every thing that was in my last over crowded wallet and then some. It is very solid well made wallet multiple compartments allows you to organize all of your important item, drivers license, insurance cards an credit cards. There is one thing missing that I would like to see in an updated version some way to carry photos.

Made for a different time
Most of the reviews are 10 years old. I feel like this wallet was made for a different era. My fault for not looking closer at the specs. Few things I noticed -*It's wide. The area you put the bills in swallows them and you have to dig hem out* No external area for quick access to debit card* The internal card holders are really deep? Why? You have to dig them out when you want to use them.* It folds up like a brick and feels like it in your pocket* Opening it up in the store will have everyone looking as that Velcro sounds like a chainsaw lol*George Costanza would approve of this bad boy!

The Wallet I Have Been Looking For
This is a great wallet because it is big which is exactly what I wanted. It's not too big for any of my jeans; not even close. So if you are worried about it fitting your pants, I doubt it will be an issue. Plenty of compartments with excellent construction and materials.
