Huge and mobile
Like others, I'll be mounting a piece of wood to a tripod like a tabletop and then mounting the flat lip of this to the edge of that "table".I'm using this as a mobile dust catcher for various sanding discs and wheels and a bunch of small scroll and jig saws that don't really have a place to mount dedicated suction attachments. Also if I'm using a handheld sanding wheel or orbital sander or even just handheld sandpaper this will be useful. Then I can just slide it over to catch the streams of stuff jetting of my wood lathe. I don't use too much green wood on my lathe so I don't get nice long ribbons peeling off the work piece: just lots of dust along with some short thin curls.Eventually I'd like to group all my smaller tools onto one bench and just have an oven hood type intake setup over the bench (like the fume hood in a chemistry lab), but this on a tripod is way more useful at the moment. My other tools with cabinets are getting the smaller versions of this, along with wood to enclose each cabinet. I also got a smaller one of these to mount under the hole in my drill press table.I'm sick of dust! I found a block of oak and drilled a hole in it:that was enough to get me sneezing and putting a layer of dust on every thing in the vicinity. No more! Everything is getting sealed up with a vent installed or this big gulp on the tripod pushed next to it during use.-

Works pretty well with a lathe.
I’ve been able to use this hood for a few pieces on a midi lathe now. I connected it to a wall mounted Powertec dust collector. I also purchased a 4” clear flexible hose also from Powertec, which fit perfectly onto the outlet (I was concerned about the fit due to some of the comments about not being able to find a good fit, but it worked fine for me).Since lathe work tends to blow chips and dust everywhere I wasn’t expecting a 100% solution. But it seemed to do well with just about all of the fine dust and a lot of the chips, and I’m more concerned with the fine dust anyway. The only issue I’ve noticed so far is that it seems to work best for me if the mouth is facing downward (opposite side of the lathe, set at about a 45 degree angle, as close to the piece as possible without loosing visual of the area you’re working on). I considered purchasing the hood that came with a mount but I noticed it only seems to be horizontally adjustable, which limits mounting the hood only to behind the lathe and not at an angle above it. It wouldn’t be that hard to fabricate a more adjustable multi angle mount myself, but if PSI had such a mount already available I would have purchased that instead of making one.

Omg!!!
This product has a great feel and structure to it!! I did look at the size spec In the ad, but that doesn't do it justice. Nice and grease free feel to the plastic i would recommend from a 300mm x 300mm desktop machine that emits odor or smoke. Can't wait to setup and try out. I don't have any expectations for performance till I setup it up.

This works great
I have an old small Delta table saw I wanted to adapt for dust collection. The housing around the saw was difficult to address, but I put this under the saw and it works great. I get very little dust out on the floor now.The only thing I don't like about it is that it put the outlet so close to the floor I have to have a number of bends to go back up to my system. Dust moves through this find, but small particles don't so I bought 4" scd 40 PVC plumbing and cut some couplings. I had to add a few layers of duct tape around this piece, but the plumbing pipe cut to about 5" makes a great coupling that allows me to easily and quickly remove the outlet pipe and remove anything larger pieces that feel down inside the saw.I think it is a bit pricey, but unique enough to spend the money.

Great Quality for the Price and improved the cleanliness of my Table Saw instantly
I have an older Delta Contractor saw with a couple of upgrades on it. The type of saw that I have doesn't come with any dust collection other than a "slide" underneath. This fit perfectly in the space under table saw and above the slide. With an elbow attached I can easily connect my dust collector to it. And even though it doesn't have a sealed cabinet it does a great job of collecting any of the dust created by the saw seriously reducing the mess I make when I use it.The hood itself is made of a thick material and I haven't had any issues with the quality or use of it. I'm happy with my purchase.

Not sure how to say this
Great tool for dust collection. Four inch hose connection. The issue with it is- figuring out where to put it and how. It does not connect to a stand. And no way to hang it. I, luckily, have my lathe on a table with room to sit it behind the lathe. Not everyone is going to have that. Good luck. Sitting it on the floor works but does not get everything.

This Big Gulp does just what it's supposed to do, despite what the naysayers whine about. Plastic from any country isn't meant to be mishandled or dropped - if it arrived broken, return it for replacement for crying out loud.Referring to the attached image, I screwed the Big Gulp to a 7" X 16" X 3/4" piece of plywood - the front lip worked fine for 3 fasteners and a fourth with a thin fender washer secured it just ahead of the round intake - it was in turn mounted on top of an antique metal stand with an adjustable shaft so I could use it with multiple applications. Finally, I taped a 4" elbow to the nipple to relieve stress on the hose and hooked up the latter using an adjustable clamp. Less dust in the air is a good thing!

Peut être plus difficile a rendre étanche a la suction
Le rebord autour, n'est pas de la même largeur sur tout les cotés du rectangle.Ca semble un carré, mais c'est un rectangle.Il est donc plus difficile de le rendre sans fuite sous vide.

Measure your table saw to make sure the big gulp chute will fit.
Easy to install. Works great with vacuum.
