A fresh alternative!
When I first tried it, I thought "eww." But after a while, I started to realize my mouth felt SO much cleaner after brushing. Definitely has that "tree root" taste, but isn't so overly sweet and doesn't leave a film on my teeth the way mainstream pastes do.This is a natural, clean freshness, and I use much less than normal toothpastes, so the tube lasts a long time.

Wonderful for perio patients.
Of you have trouble with your teeth and gums, this is the toothpaste for you. My dentist recommended this to me when I had a hip replacement, bc I couldn't get a cleaning for a year. My teeth have never been whiter, or my gums healthier. Please buy this over the name brand products that do nothing good for your mouth!

Refreshing!
I needed to find a non-toxic toothpaste for sensitive teeth. My homemade toothpaste was great but turned out too be to harsh for my needs. The previous 'natural' toothpastes I tried did not work well for me. I was fortunate to happen to find PerioPaste. Healthy ingredients, great taste and my mouth feels fresh and clean. I've only been using this product for a couple of weeks and it has diminished my sensitivity. It checks all the boxes and then some. I highly recommend this product.

Happy with the ingredients in this toothpaste. Angry with the price hike.
I've been searching for Fluoride and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate free toothpaste for a very long time. I've used to use Tom's of Maine until they sold out to Colgate (I believe). I had sensitive teeth and fluoride toothpaste only made it worse.Even those branded for "sensitive" didn't help.Once I got onto the Fluoride-free and SLS-free toothpaste train, I noticed a difference in my teeth sensitivity within a month. I've never gone back since. In my 2 year search of a toothpaste that would fit my needs, I found this hidden gem and have used it since last September. The reason why I gave 4 stars, is because I subtracted one star for the price. The lowest it had been was two 4-oz tubes for about $11. I bought it when it was two 4-oz tubes for $15 dollars. Now, it's almost $23.I'm NOT happy about the price hike on this. Two tubes have lasted me from the middle of September, until the middle of March.Overall, great product and I would recommend it.Unfortunately the price hike is preventing me from being able to afford more.

We finally found a fluoride-free, foaming-agent-free, natural toothpaste
We searched long and hard to find this toothpaste. We were looking for something that was all-natural, fluoride free, and also foaming-agent-free. The last one was the kicker - there are many (many, Many, MANY) toothpaste manufacturers who proudly claim that they are "Sodium Lauryl Sulfate Free" or "SLS Free", but which still include variants of this industrial surfactant foaming agent. It's funny that people go to great lengths to eat healthfully, but then will brush with toothpaste that is, literally, toxic due to the fluoride and foaming agents. Leaving aside hysteria, the facts are that fluoride is a poison, and if one were to ingest the contents of a tube of standard fluoride+SLS toothpaste that would call for an emergency room visit and could potentially be life-threatening.Also, the size of a unit of toothpaste is limited by the manufacturers in order to prevent lawsuits over accidental ingestion (usually by children). Have you ever wondered why you can't buy a huge tub of toothpaste with a pump on top? That's why - the manufacturers don't want the liability of putting lethal doses of sweet tasting poison on your bathroom counter. Also, if you think you're *not* ingesting these agents because you don't swallow, take a look at an article on sublingual administration of medication, where you'll find that mucous membrane under the tongue leads directly to a profusion of capillaries, and substances in your mouth diffuse through them and pass directly into the bloodstream. They don't even pass through the normal digestive or filtering mechanisms of the body, they pass directly into the bloodstream. So, we have made the choice to forego the dental benefits of fluoride and the familiarity of foaming (via SLS) by using natural toothpaste. Yes, we might get a couple more cavities, but we consider that a fair trade when weighed against the daily ingestion of known toxic and poisonous chemicals.

Sensitivity gone and pockets healed
No longer have periodontal pockets nor sensitivity. This toothpaste really works to heal gums. I have also used the Perioscript in my water pic. These products are amazing.

You'll never turn back.
The best "what is this chemical?" free toothpaste I've ever used, way tastier than Tom's of Maine. I was worried that I'd get more cavities after switching to this, I initially found it while starting the paleo diet and not wanting to buy any products from people owned by a conglomerate like Dow. or Colgate-Palmolive in the case of Tom's. In general buying a Sonicare was the best thing I could've done for my mouth so I didn't want to ruin all my years of hard work getting my teeth back in shape and my dentist always warned against hippy toothpaste. But years later, I'm still cavity free and my dentist says that I'm one of his top 5 turnarounds ever. I was apparently on the verge of having a lot of teeth pulled. If you're in your teens or twenties, please, listen to advice from someone who's done the wrong thing. DO NOT DRINK GALLONS OF SODA A DAY AND ALMOST NEVER BRUSH YOUR TEETH. Yeah, bad things happen it turns out.Anyway, the taste is a little weird at first, but I can't use any other toothpaste now without cringing. They're all way too sweet and zingy in an unpleasant way. This has a hint of mint, hint of cinnamon and is mellow.

Stinks and doesn’t work
The taste is horrible and it doesn’t help with gum disease. Very disappointed
