Helps seal air leakages
We had a very cold winter and it was below zero for several days. I needed something to block the larger slider windows where air kept creeping in. These worked great (if you don't count the cat HATING them) in alleviating the draft. I kept them in one window through the summer as well to help keep the air conditioning inside (because we're not cooling the outside). They do insulate that small area to help prevent leaks but wish they were heavier in total weight

Engineering in action.
I read many of the reviews before hesitantly buying these door snakes. Many said they are too light and thin however what they are is well engineered to use as little raw material as possible and yet still do the intended job. These are not round. They are a flatish tube shape with small weighted pockets at three spots on one side of the tube. They have a thick seam running down each side. You do not throw this on the floor and kick it into the spot you want protected. You need to bend down and gently place this at an angle in front of your door with the weighted side down. You then let the unweighted top side slant in and rest against the door. It's brilliant really, keeps the cost and shipping low which keeps the buyers cost low and yet it works great. I have no complaints. It also has a corded braid hook that makes them very easy to store when not in use. I just loop them over an hanger and put them in the closet. Photo Descriptions: One: On my counter, bent at an angle so you can see the shape, the seam and the angle. Two: Properly placed at the base of a door.

Perfect for windows!
We have double hung windows and the air seeps through up where you unlock it to slide it up, not at the base. When you turn these on the side, on their seam, they sit on that edge perfectly and blocks the cold north wind that wants to whistle through. They blocked the cold air and the high wind noise! These turned out perfect. They are lightweight and you can balance them by their heavier ends and heavier middle. There is no reason why you would need these to be heavy throughout the entire body in order to block the cold and wind.

Helps but Could Be Better
I like the fabric and the diameter. But this product has two flaws that cause them to leak a lot of air: too short and too light. They are a couple inches shy of the advertised length. And they need to have a channel running the entire length for the sand that weighs them down. I am using them to stop the draft where the sashes meet badly on the fancy modern double hung windows in my apartment. Without adequate weight along their length, they do not sit firmly on the sash and allow a lot of air to get through. Likewise they leak a lot of air because they are short.

Work's great!
Really helps to seal the bottom of the door as I've noticed a cooler room during the day. Plus saving energy and money by not working my ac as hard.
