I ordered this for my All American canner, but the threads stick out a lot further and won't screw in. Did anybody else need to really"force" it in?

Mine screwed right in. Closely inspect the threads on your canner and this piece as well for burrs or other damage. If the canner threads look good you might want to exchange the part for a new one. If the threads on the canner are damaged you may be able to put them back in order using a thread chaser to correct it. Most plumbers and mechanics have these in their tool box. Good luck!

I assuming this works with the #68 weight. any suggestions how I can find my model number?

I use the All American Regulator #68 with the settings of 5, 10 and 15. It works on my 915 and 921 canners.

Can i use this on a presto canner?

It fit pefect on my Presto Canner....
