This is The answer for Heavy Art & Mirrors
The naive will say how hard can a 36 x 42 beveled mirror be to hang? OK, so I have been at a standstill for a while, living with this honking big mirror that I hung with "traditional" wire and eye hole screws, that make an elegant thing looks like untrained monkeys hung it.French Cleats. These are designed in different sizes to get an appropriate cleats to hold heavier objects. How much does this thing weigh that you want to hang? Get on the scale, weigh yourself and then you and your thing. No guesswork is the first advantage working with big or heavy objects.and the next is knowing exactly where to use these and how. For me, it is essential; Glasses can correct only so much, but I'd be loathe to admit that.If you are hanging a framed mirror such as what I am doing, I can't make it any easier than to take a couple of laser readings to make sure I am installing it correctly. A heavier piece like what I have and is going in a bathroom requires more work which is not my purpose here. These arrived swiftly and safely and are as advertised. I'm pleased. If you are a pro or a homeowner with a death wish, you might find cleats cheaper. If you are really squeezing your pennies, check with a paint dealer where you live. They should have them reasonably. I didn't go to that much trouble, and you can't argue the price that I got here.I am writing this, a week before Christmas, so that proves right up front that I am nuts approaching this nonsense. No, you don't understand. Redecorating my bathroom has been an ongoing project for two years. It was down to hanging the very last thing on the wall and I was/am over time-eating projects with scant results. For those that celebrate Christmas, have a very merry. There are so many beliefs and religions in our world. I don't puzzle what you might think. At the end of the year, I believe that every sort of beliefs celebrate something special in their hearts. God bless them in each of their higher powers. Of the atheists, who think that all of this is nonsense, I get it. Hang your damn mirror and get on with. Smart. I'll do just that.I'll try to pop a picture of it later to share.

Great little french cleat.
Great little french cleat, only thing after hanging that would be a great improvement would be countersunk screw holes.

Worked like a charm on heavy wall sconces.
We purchased sconces to go on a brick fireplace, but they did not include proper hardware. These French cleats were perfect. I have attached a photo (before it is properly wired, and I also removed the unsightly hook at the top).

Excellent
The French cleat is the best hardware for precision mounting heavier mirrors and pictures to a hollow wall ... perfect for laser alignment. It's a single-lift mount from floor-to-wall solution. There is no futzing with cables or wires or finding bolt heads. For a 2" length, assuming I'm not lucky enough to center the frame on a stud, I'll mount with larger hollow wall anchors.I've hung "hundred-pounder" fancy mirrors with a longer cleat that can be secured across the 16" stud distance.

8x4 White Board Supports
I bought a pair of these to hang an 8x4 white board. Since it was a pair, it came with two top and bottom pieces. We re-purposed one of the bottom pieces to support the top. Meaning 3 cleat hangers evenly spaced to attach to the top of the white board. Because the white board already had a lip for these types of cleat hangers, it worked perfectly. However we did not use the anchors it came with. We bought heavy duty anchors from Lowes. Worked like a charm.
