This is the 2nd set of these that I have bought. The first set was great, but after folding the flag poles for transportation, I forgot to tighten the screws and one of them vibrated loose and was lost. No matter, I actually had three flags I wanted to fly and I had been delaying buying the 2nd set. Installation is easy. Make sure you have the base oriented so the post folds in the direction you want. My first install I had one of them turned around so it folded outward instead of inward. I did not need to use any of the supplied rubber spacers or tape to get them to mount tightly to my Kuryakyn trunk rack. I like that these fold so that you can put them down when you want to put a cover on without damaging the cover. Which happened to me once when I didn't have time to fold them. After putting the cover on, they did poke a hole through the cover. The two on the outside fold inward and the one in the middle towards the back folds frontward and if I do it in the right order they fold flat without anything sticking up. I'm not a fan of the bullet style finials, mostly because there isn't a great way to get a wrench or pliers on these to tighten and loosen them without marring the chrome. You MUST use blue loctite on these or they will vibrate loose and you will lose them. I nearly lost one but caught it before it had a chance to completely come off. Since using the blue loctite they don't come loose. I use soft-jaw pliers to get them loose to replace flags or replace the o-rings that are used to keep the flags at the top of the post. I do wish they offered different style finials that you could swap out.
