I'm buying it again after 8 years
I bought this ninja food chopper 8 years ago and it's still working well. But it is starting to rust a little (It might be because I always wash it in the dishwasher) so I am buying it again. I think it is a really good product if you use it for 8 years at this price. I hope it will be as good as the previous one.

Really Nice Machine with Great Pluses.....and a few Grumbles too....
I LIKE it! I like it a lot!Previously I have always used my little old-fashioned "plunger-type" hand chopper (with the wooden insert in the bottom of the pyrex base) and it finally "pooped" out. I have done without for a year or so, being undecided what to replace it with. Recently my older age...very "senior" cats have been having problems eating their food, and so I was desperate for something to chop their chicken and beef and tuna in the cans up finer for them as they were just lapping up the gravy and leaving the meat. So, this machine looked small enough to keep out and use every day, etc., and I ordered it. When it arrived I was so surprised to see how large the container actually is, and further so with the job that it does chopping, etc......simply "wow"! My babies are now eating all their food, so they are getting all their nutrition and I am no longer throwing 2/3 of their dinner away every day....very pleased.Since I found how serviceable the container was size-wise and how good this thing chops, I have been doing other things....like chopping nuts, fresh coconut, dates, etc., to add to my home-made muesli.....NICE! And, today I chopped cranberries and oranges for my favorite winter-time "treat".....cranberry relish....just great, and no mess from my 130 year-old "grammy's grinder"....you know the one, it screws onto a table edge and you use good old hand power......and you have juice etc., all over everything. No Mess! So I said "Wow!" again! I'll be using this frequently and the fact that it isn't really very expensive and it is very good quality pleases me and I may consider some of the larger items in the Ninja line.OK, now for the few things that "bother" me about it.....I have arthritis in my hands, and find the top difficult to lift off and place on the base....some sort of a non-slip or "thumb-print" type design on the top would make it easier for someone like myself to handle. In this same vein, the base also is quite large for my hands as they are, and it is very smooth which makes it hard for me to handle also. A handle (like on a measuring cup) would make it SO much easier to use. Also, the interior of the base has sort of ridges inside which make it hard to spatula out after using. Last, the opening in the cover of the base where the "drive" from the motor comes down through is not necessarily a real good design....I have had juice and morsels fly up through the opening and get up into and around the knurl of the drive and it is very difficult to clean up as one cannot "wet" this part of the machine.Overall, however, I am very pleased with this machine and am hoping that perhaps the manufacturer may make these modifications to this chopper which would be sure to get me to purchase another one and give it FIVE Stars!

Ya just gotta get one!
Despite over 6,000 reviews already on this product, I have to throw my 2 cents in!I absolutely love this chopper. I only wish I had bought it sooner. It really opens up a lot of recipes that you probably wouldn't bother with because of the ease of use.For example--Avocado Toast. Now before I got the Ninja, I would hand chop onion and garlic and the avocado and then mix them together. It didn't take that long and was a fairly easy, fun process. But NOW, it's stupid easy and almost instant. You just pop a garlic clove, 1/4 of an onion and an avocado in the chopper (I also add salt, pepper, and lemon juice) and it's done in seconds. I spread it on the toast and voila! Delicious Avocado Toast--better than any avocado toast I've ever had in a restaurant. Some of the coffee shops charge like $15 for avocado toast and this is WAY better! And a heckuva lot cheaper! And SUPER FAST!I also make snowballs or shaved ice with it--literally takes just a few seconds. I chop smaller ice cubes in the Ninja and then pour the syrup over it. I made Vanilla/Ice Cream flavored syrup out of simple syrup (water and sugar boiled then cooled) and a couple of drops of vanilla extract. I think I might go make one right now LOL! It's so easy!I also make smoothies--again, it couldn't be easier. Ice, frozen fruit, fresh fruit, juice and out comes a tasty, healthy smoothie. I just ordered some Moringa here on Amazon to add to my smoothies--that Moringa is good stuff if you haven't tried it.Black bean dip--again, so easy! Wash a can of beans, put them in the Ninja chopper with 1/2 an onion, a clove of garlic, jalepeno if you have it, salt and pepper. Maybe add a few tablespoons of water to make the dip softer and smoother. Boom! Great black bean dip. Some people pan fry the onions and garlic in oil before putting them in the machine. Could go either way......I could go on and on with the recipes. Hummus, Chicken Salad, potato salad, bread crumbs, hash browns, sauces, dips--you name it! And it's so fast! The next thing I want to try is a Mint Julep. I'm going to put mint, ice, and simply syrup into the chopper, then into the glass with some bourbon. Sounds good, right?Look, for $20, this might be the all time greatest NO BRAINER! Yes, I could see the potential for a tiny amount of food getting caught in the motor housing, but that hasn't happened to me so far, and it looks like it would be a snap to clean if it did. Speaking of cleaning--this thing is a breeze to clean. I literally just rinse it off after using and it's ready to go for the next mini-project.If you do any cooking at all, I highly recommend the Ninja Express Chopper!
