I absolutely love Surya Brasil Dark Brown Henna! My hair is 90% gray, and after being gray for over five years, I decided it was time for a change. I discovered this product through Dr. Dray on YouTube, who recommended it as a non-toxic, chemical-free hair dye that leaves your hair softer, shinier, and healthier. That’s exactly why I gave it a try—and now I’m on my third bottle!This henna has exceeded all my expectations. My hair looks amazing, and I often receive compliments on how soft and shiny it is.One thing to note: I do need to leave the product in my hair for at least double the recommended time to fully cover my grays. For root touch-ups, I need to refresh my roots every three weeks or so. When I do this, I simply mix the touch-up amount into my roots and then work it into my hair, like highlights, ensuring it blends seamlessly.What I love most about Surya Brasil is that it has no strong smell, no harsh chemicals, and no irritation. As someone highly sensitive to chemicals, I stopped dyeing my hair years ago, but this product has been a perfect solution. Easy to use, great coverage. This turns your grey hair into subtle golden highlights. Beautiful

Easy to apply and great natural color

I loved the way this henna hair color was already mixed and ready to be applied. Very easy and plenty to do my long hair from scalp to the ends.However the dark brown I ordered actually appeared more of a reddish brown where my gray was. (The pictures show close to my scalp where my hair had grown out, and was gray and is now a light brown/red color) The darker parts of my brown hair absorbed color and is now a healthy beautiful dark brown with a slight hint of red. I let the color sit on my hair for 60 minutes before I washed it out. Maybe leaving it on for 2 hours would have achieved a darker brown color where my gray was. ?Overall this was easy to use (make sure you have your own gloves as none are provided) hair color, low/no odor and my hair shines and feels healthy. Will buy again for overall color, but will still have to use traditional powdered henna (alternating) for root growth to get a darker coverage.

Works really well, but make sure to do a vinegar or lemon juice (diluted) rinse first to open the pores of your hair or it won't last very long.

I am saddened to write that this product is no longer acceptable. Discovered this product a couple of years ago at Trader Joe’s and was really happy to have found something I could use at home that was safe and healthy for my hair. At first, everything went well. Then I noticed twice that the product seemed to last less time and required more frequent application. Gloves were missing from the packages as well, in spite of clearly still appearing on the attached instructions leaflet. Decided to order a different batch, this time directly from Amazon. No gloves again and had to use two packages instead of one on my medium length hair. After multiple consecutively disappointing purchases, I decided to stop using this product.

This henna product worked well to cover my gray hair and left my hair soft and healthy. The drawback is that it rubs off a lot on lights fabrics after applying and is still rubbing off a bit a full month after application. This happens just when my hair is wet after washing. For that reason I’m not sure I will choose to use it long term.
