Revised review - One of my orders arrived missing some parts, so I reached out to Fleximount customer service. They were great to work with — clear communication, friendly, and quick to respond. Instead of just sending the parts I needed, they ended up sending me a full replacement rack. I appreciated the gesture, but I already have several installed and don’t have space for another one. When I followed up, they told me I could go ahead and donate it. For what it’s worth, the racks themselves were easy to install and made a huge difference in our garage. They opened up a ton of space and really helped us get organized.

We finally installed one of the two we bought of these. And boy what an install. First if you can find your rafters easily, you get 40 points. Then if you can get every screw in without trouble you get 10 more points. If you managed to get this looking straight without having to measure a thousand time 20 points. If you were able to put this up yourself 30 points and "I am not worthy" bowing to you All in all it did take some time to do this, but boy does it look awesome up. It is very sturdy as hanging, but it does sway side to side. We are thinking of putting bars slanted going from bottom of one side to top of the other. Maybe that will help. I will say this, I love the adjustable rods, you can keep it close to the ceiling or farther down you get to pick your height, we have it just about the middle and there is tons of room to place items. The one thing that irked me was that at least one screw at every step seemed to be not fully threaded right. I would have a hard time with one screw at each step of putting the shelf itself and hooking it to the bars. That was annoying. The blots were simple but the pre-threaded openings were a pain. This is function perfectly for story items in the garage, we have one at one wall and another will go on the opposite wall. Wahoo no more junk on the floor. Oh and hubby wants to mention, if you place this right up against the wall, it may be tough getting the shelf on as you need a little room to hold it all still. I say keep it at least a few inches from the wall.

The FLEXIMOUNTS overhead garage storage rack is incredibly sturdy and offers a ton of extra space—once it’s up, it really transforms the garage. However, it did take my husband and his friend quite a long time to install. The instructions are clear, but the process is definitely not quick, especially if you’re not used to ceiling mounts. That said, the finished result is solid, stable, and holds a lot of weight, so the effort was worth it. Overall, a great storage solution with a time-consuming setup

Bought 2 of these racks and very happy with it. Hardest part was locating and marking the studs in the ceiling but the installation of the unit was very straight forward and was not complicated. I was able to install both units on my own but took some time. Once the ceiling supports were installed the hanging support straps were easy to install. I used hooks to catch on to the corners of the platform and then one by one installed the hardware bolts to secure each corner. I now have lots of extra space to stow my stuff away from view and free up space in my garage to make it more organize. I would recommend this to anyone who need more space in their garage.

I have had these for about a year and they are still holding strong in the garage. They are stuffed with holiday decor and can hold quite a bit. Strongly recommend. Does take some time to install but 100% worth it.

It took me maybe 3 or 4 hours to assemble and hang this rack by myself. The box says team lift, but I was able to carry it by myself. Once unpacked the individual parts are manageable and it goes together very easily. The instructions say to assemble the shelf on the ground but because I did it myself, I hung each part of the self individually and it worked fine. The rack is structurally sound when assembled though it wobbles in one direction due to the overall design. This is fine as long as you don't hit it with anything. The design is solid and I have no concerns about it failing. The kit comes with all of the hardware in one of those cardboard spurs with everything perfectly organized and accounted for. The instructions refer to hardware by a number printed under the corresponding piece in the spur. It took me a minute to realize this because the spur also has the hardware sizes, which is superfluous information.

The storage rack is very easy to setup, but probably needs 2 people to install. I’m not a handyman and the longest time was spent finding the studs on the wall. It will help a lot if you have some power tools, my hands & legs were so sore the next day as I don’t have power tools and have to tighten everything manually using the tools they provided. In the beginning during installation, I had to drill some holes to test for studs as my stud finder sometimes gave wrong readings. Once I know the location of the studs, it was easy to install. My wall studs (vertical) are 16 inches apart and there is a horizontal stud on top, while my ceiling studs are 24 inches apart. For the back of the rack, I screwed the ceiling bracket to the top of the wall, parallel to the stud. For the front of the rack, I screwed the ceiling bracket perpendicular to the studs on the ceiling. My son helped me by holding the ladder to make it steady, and lifting the wire grids as they’re heavy. Pros: * Smart design, hard to go wrong during setup & installation. For example, for the vertical brackets, there’s 2 of them, one with square holes and the other with round holes, if you make mistakes, the screw won’t fit in. * Strong, good quality, & durable rack * Hold 600 lbs. * Adjustable height * Comes with tools for installation * Fast delivery. When I ordered the 3x8 rack, delivery time shows 1 week even though I’m a Prime member, probably the item is not as popular as the 4x8 rack, which can be delivered the next day. However I was surprised when Amazon delivered the 3x8 rack in 2 days. Cons: * No extra screws, so don’t lose them * No diagonal support brackets, so it sways a bit horizontally, but I guess once you put some stuffs, it won’t sway anymore as the rack will be heavy. * No hooks included

Really happy with this. It’s sturdy and the provided instructions were accurate. I was able to install it on my own. If I had to do it again, I would first make a paper template for the full installation.
