Packaging
Love the product on the whole but the packaging was sub-par basically a ziplock bag with one freeze pack that had melted by the time I received the box, some insulation in the box and multiple freeze packs would ensure the meat arrives still chilled and not hot.

Excellent Product
A little on the expensive side for sure but worth it for a once in a while treat. The flavor is excellent with no lingering nasty taste you are probably used to from eating processed salami's. This is a very good product and a good company to deal with.

Not for my palate, or too many others for that matter
Living in the country, I figured I should try this product - Wild Boar. I have tried various delicacies around the world, and thought this was just another log in the stack. Boy was I wrong. The product is wrapped in special paper with a casing covering the salami. The maker's website is helpful with regards to unpacking and preparing it. Looking at the product, it looks well made. The whitish coating is rice flour condensation, not mold. This morning, I opened it up thinking I would have a few slices for breakfast. I unpacked it, unwrapped the casing and cut a piece off for myself. HOOOOOOOOOOOO-WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE! The smell is overpowering and pungent. I thought my eyebrows and eyelashes were going to curl. It's just the nature of Wild Boar. The salami is dark and marbled with fat. The taste is exactly how it smells to me. There is a long lasting aftertaste that just didn't sit well with my palate or stomach. You either love or hate the taste. I thought I could eat more of this but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Ok, one more bite...down it goes and up it went. I cannot get the smell out of my nose, now, several hours later. I have been drinking coffee and eating hot peppers to make the taste in my mouth and smell in my nostrils go away. 6 hours later, I think I finally succeeded. This wild board salami is an acquired taste. Unfortunately, I haven't acquired the taste myself, nor do I intend to try. I'll let you be the judge of it yourself. I'm willing to try other more conventional meats from this maker. Just not wild boar.

Delicious salami but, pheeeww, that smell! Not for the faint of heart!
I love this stinky salami. It's fairly chewy and marbled with fat so it has almost a buttery quality to it. I like it so much that I've started to make sandwiches with it - thin medallions of wild boar salami on fresh baked sunflower seed bread with brie, bosc pear slices and a drizzle of honey. Delicious!
