Smooth and dims well. Didn’t notice an x mark. No thread for lens cap which is a deal breaker for me, will be returning.

I like the product very very much. Premium build and quality. Pictures are clear as they should be, without any refractions. Only downside is, i bought this filter for my Tamron 35-150mm lens, but when i have the filter attached, i cant attach the lens hood as it wont fit! so you have to use your lens without a hood. If thats a compromise you cant live with, then dont get this filter as thats the only downside it has. The lens cap also barely fits/attaches securely, as the thread is vey thin.

I bought this filter with lots of hopes and when i used it it is showing cross or X in the middle when i rotate it to max. Now i have to buy fixed nd filter set
