Make no mistake about it, this product will work with your older and newer Keurig machines!
This K-Cup is a great K-Cup for all you people who own a Keurig. K40 machine. My new keurig 2.0. Malfunctioned, so I went to Goodwill and I saw an older model keurig(k40) so I purchased it hoping I could use my K-Cup with this older model I purchased at Goodwill because I don't like the way my coffee comes out with the pods that you purchase in the store filled with coffee because it's too weak. So I was looking in Amazon for a compatible K-Cup that fit the K40 and they showed the Keurig K-Cup that looked like the ones I use that fits my malfunctioned Keurig 2.0 so it must be one designed to fit the K40 specifically I thought So I ordered it! It wasn't until today when I went to check my mail for my kcup and it hadn't arrived yet so out of frustration and being mad wishing it would hurry and get here so I could enjoy my coffee again is when I noticed a video in the product description that I hadn't seen before so I descided to watch it and I so glad I did!So the video shows a lady demonstrating this K-Cup used with my newly purchased but much older model keurig K-40 I found at Goodwill to take the place of my newer Keurig 2.0 (very clean in pristine condition) as I watched the video it shows her pulling out the K-40 models built in holder that holds the coffee pods then this is where the video became very clear to me.... it showed her taking the Grey tab off the K-kup then sitting in the place where she took the built in pod holder out and placed the kcup into the machine! So after that I got to the part of the video where she stated "Attention Keurig 2.0 owners DO NOT remove the Grey tab"! That's when I had my wake up moment, my uh-huh moment, that's where I went wrong and unnecessary went without my coffee for a solid week I wasn't assembling things right. When they say advertise these K- cups as universal, they weren't kidding! it. I was not paying attention I guess or doing enough research. Anyways, I immediately went to work and I brewed my first cup of coffee with my new yet much older machine and let me tell you, the Keurig K40 brews a much better cup of coffee using these K cups than my newer model did. Not a joke. I give this product a five star review. Unfortunately, I have several of them kicking around so I don't need anymore do I'll return this one and receive a credit for something else but I just wanted to share this review with anyone who might be in my situation or similar to mine! Had this jcup came in the mail on time I might have not found this video out of frustration so I guess like the saying goes everything happens for a reason!FYI. for all of you who might like your 12-16ounce cup of coffee strong like I do then start brewing your coffee in 4ounce incrimints and pull your coffee cup out and put something in it's place to catch the remaining hot watered down coffee!! Continue doing it this way and with every 4ounce brew cycle to get you to the 12 or 16 ounce cup of coffee! Remember you also need to fill the K-cup with coffee everytime you select the 4ounce brew as well! This is how you can get to your personal desired strength. It works great this way! Works well: This product very much is a universal product and it does work with all Keurig models I might add.

EASY TO USE, CHEAPER
World well after I figured out how to use it. You can wash it in the dishwasher. And it's a lot cheaper the Pods. It is vey sturdy so I dint expect it to fall apart on me.

Works PERFECTLY for making a single cup of Yerba Mate from loose ground yerba mate leaf bits!
I wish this was all metal. Just because i'd like to avoid plastics, BUT... overall, this works REALLY well. I use it to make Yerba Mate one cup at a time. It does a GREAT job. I always makes sure it's dumped/rinsed every time i use it, and it stays free-flowing. Only took about 3 uses to develop a ritual for efficient use. Well designed. Functions very well. A couple other reviews seemed to complain about the lid not fitting on well, or to be careful. I finde if you just make sure you push the cap on snugly until you FEEL it seat 100% of the way, and THEN twist the cap to lock it, you'll have great luck. I think maybe people were expecting the twisting of the cap to pull the strainer basket into place. But that's not how the design works. Always make sure to push the strainer basket ALL the way into the cap -- which you can SEE and FEEL - and THEN twist the cap on to the lock position. Works perfect every time. Seals fine. Enjoy! This is great value for the money. I haven't tried it with coffee grounds yet, but i can already tell it's going to work well.

Finally got one that works
I like the convenience of the Keruig coffee maker, but the coffee from those little pods never really tastes good to me. I have a Duo model and tried to use the "universal" reusable pods. I always had to get them lined up just right and even then it was always iffy whether the lid would close or not.I want to the Keurig website and saw this, and then went to Amazon to see if they had the same thing. I'd always rather buy from Amazon so I got this.I"ve seen other reviews that say this doesn't work, but the trick is that you have to take out the existing holder for the k-pods and replace it with this. The best way to do that is to push it up from underneath and the holder pops out. Once you load this with coffee, then you put it in and everything works great. The major issue I have with this device is that I always have to take out the whole thing each time. The reusable pod fits into a plastic device and it would be much better if I could just leave that in the coffee maker and then I'd just have to put in the reusable pod. WIth this design, I have to take everything out and that makes it much less convenient. It is supposed to work for the various models and I'm sure it does, but it's not nearly as conveient as those cut rate reusable pods. I even tried to leave part of the device in the coffee make and use one of the other pods but the piece then falls out into the cup.So, it's better than the cut rate ones but less convenient.
