Protects my house from my gas grill
I don't have room on my covered deck to place my Blackstone griddle 3' from the wall. I was looking at different options for a heat shield, including putting up a cement board with tile to protect the wall, but it seemed like a lot of work so I thought I would try using this blanket instead. I chose this blanket because it didn't use fiberglass (itching) and it had the grommets for hanging. I just got it today and hung it on the wall to test it out. I put the griddle one foot away and turned it on high. After 10 minutes I felt the blanket and it was slightly hot, but not to the point where I couldn't leave my hand on it. The wall behind it was warm. After 20 minutes the blanket and the wall behind it felt about the same as at the 10-minute mark. About 30 seconds after turning off the griddle and moving it away, I used an IR thermometer and it showed the blanket temperature at about 140 F and the wall behind it at about 110 F. Keep in mind that this is with the blanket hung right up against the wall. I plan to hang it about an inch off the wall to have an air gap that should keep the wall even cooler. It's not aesthetically pleasing, but once I have the permanent hooks on the wall, it should be a breeze to put it up and take it down. The blanket I received is about 6.5' square and has eight grommets running along each side (not three along each side like in the picture).

Exactly what it said it would be
My husband uses it on his pellet smoker grill when it is cold outside to help retain heat

Great cold weather blanket for my Traeger.
Just use strong magnets to hold against the Traeger lid. This blanket is great. No dangerous loose fibers like fiberglass blankets.

Stand up fine to a blowtorch
Use these for several things. Dropping hot lead on, welding, and an insulator for a very hot object. Took a blow torch to it to test it. No damage

best blanket
Best blanket i've used. Welding with the other fiberglass blankets is a nightmare and leaves you itchy for a day. problem with thoes is the hot welding beads start breaking the fibers up after a while and then its everywhere. This blanket does not have that problem. Seems durable and large enough to cover your whole body or redirect welding splatter away from a large area.

So much better than fiberglass
I love these blankets, this one is a lil thicker than some Ive bought before. Very flexible, soft and most important is flame proof. I always have welding slag dropping on this and it doesnt fade it.
