Perfect angle sharpener
Very well built, especially for the cost. And you do not have to use proprietary stones. You can use any brand.

Lansky Rubber-Jaw Multi Angle Knife clamp RCLAMP
I recently purchased a Lansky Diamond stone sharpening system so I could profile my household and pocket knives consistently. Before the purchase, I did considerable research. One of the YouTube videos I saw mentioned this clamp. The advantage of this clamp over the one that's supplied with the kit is twofold. First, the jaws of the clamp have small foam pads glued in that allows you to clamp the knife without marring/discoloring the blade. Second, the screws supplied with this clamp have a plastic cap that allows you to tighten them more easily than the ones on the supplied clamp. That second advantage is also a disadvantage when sharpening at a low bevel angle. The plastic cap gets in the way of the hone. The clamp does what it was designed to do. However, the plastic cap getting in the way is why this is only a 4 star review. I had to purchase 4 10x24 (thread count per inch) screws to replace the supplied capped screws. These allow me to sharpen a Santoku knife at 17 degree bevel angle without interference from the clamping screws. You don't have to have the clamp to sharpen knives because the supplied clamp will do it just as well (after changing the screws out) if you put a small piece of blue masking tape on the knife blade where you clamp the knife for sharpening.Overall it works but Lansky needs to ensure the capped screws are short enough to not get in the way.

Having the thumb screw rather than just a slotted screw is great !
Having the thumb screw in place of the regular slotted screw is great ! It makes it much easier to adjust for the blade thickness without trying to hold a screw driver while trying to keep everything else steady. As always the products from “Lansky “ are always first rate. They know the knife sharpening business. I have used several different types of sharpening systems through the years. Including the motor driven belts and the whet stones. I find Lansky always comes through with a quality product that actually works !Although I ordered through Amazon the product was supplied and shipped by “Kris Mon Stealth Rabbit “ . The order was obviously filled and shipped right away because It came in record time. I had to check to make sure that I hadn’t checked the “overnight shipping “ box. ( I didn’t) great service ! Thanks

good upgrade
I was skeptical on the rubber inserts but they are way stiff and grip the blade very well. a grea lansky upgrade.

This is the Lansky Clamp to Buy
I have had a Lansky sharpening system for over 35 years. It still works wonderfully. Recently a friend purchased a new set for himself after using mine. Unfortunately, he did not purchase the newer model with the two red thumbscrews. He bought the model that looked like my older model. It had a redesigned clamp that would not secure the blade and he was very disappointed. We ordered the other model of clamp with the 2 red screws (separately); it worked much better.

An improved model.
The replacement for my lanky guide that I accidentally lost is actually much better than the original. It grips the blade better and prevents it from slipping whereas that was always an issue with the older system.

Work well no scuffs on the spine of the blade
Tightens down nicely on the blade and the guide holes line up great for my diamond setup. Good replacement for my old lansky
