Best storage containers available, and made in the USA
I love Pyrex Simply Store, I've purchased multiple sizes and sets from Amazon to fill my cupboard. Plastic storage containers are good for things you will only use once, and for non food items, but plastic does absorb odors and colors, and they wear out quite quickly. Glass, on the other hand, will last a lifetime, and can be used in the oven, which makes these containers, especially the large 11 cup size, great for things like lasagna or chicken & dressing where you make up a large batch then freeze for later. Now, there have been reports of Pyrex shattering in the oven, but any glassware can shatter or crack if heated to 450 degrees. There's also been reports of them cracking or shattering if you take them out of the oven and put them on a wet countertop, and if you do this you do not need to be cooking. When you take a hot container of any sort out of the oven, you put it on the electric stove eye, an upside down pot, or a glass cutting board, or a cooling stand because you want air to circulate around and help cool it down so your food doesn't continue to cook and dry out. Personally I have only used the 11 cup size in the oven once to make a brownie cake, but given that these containers do not have handles, I much prefer Corningware Pyroceram Blue Cornflower 4 pc. Glass Ceramic Cookware Set - Limited Edition , you cannot beat it, but I have no qualms against using Pyrex Simply Store in the oven.

Great storage containers.
These are nice heavy glass containers. I actually dropped one accidentally while unpacking it from the shipping box on my hard tile floor & it did not break. That is the only glass that I have ever dropped that did not break. I primarily bought them for storage in the frig. I like the fact that they are not round which makes them more functional when fitting into the frig. They stack together very well for cabinet storage with the lids off. I don't intend to use them for cooking. I have some older Vision corning ware that I cook with because it has a lip around the edge to grasp the container securely when removing from the oven. These are smooth with no edge to grasp when lifting which makes them a little difficult to grasp which is why I won't use them for cooking. The lids do not fit tightly which is a plus for me because they are not hard to get off. They should not crack & tear as they are supple & bend fairly easily. I ordered some Rubbermaid plastic containers & I am unable to use them because the lids are so difficult for me to get on & off. I gave them to my daughter. These work very well for my purposes.

Pyrex glass food containers: great product
I cook for myself and usually make enough of each dish to last me several meals, so I need containers to store food in the refrigerator and to reheat in the microwave. I have been using the good-quality restaurant take-out round plastic containers, and although they have held up to an awful lot of use over the years, they all ended up getting stained (tomato sauce is a plastic killer!). I also have often wondered why food containers are ROUND (and why people keep buying them), when all the cabinets, refrigerators, freezers, picnic baskets, etc., have 90-degree corners? So I started looking for containers that meet these 5 criteria (each as important as the next one): rectangular or square, microwave-safe, no-stain, no-warp, reasonably-priced. I'm very happy to have found these. The glass will never stain, the plastic lids are thick so they don't get warped after being microwaved (I never microwave them for longer than 3 minutes at a time). The lids are also tight at the corners, which minimizes the risk of spilling, but they are not entirely spill-proof and do not provide a good odor-seal (I wish I could take away a half-star for that). Anyway, I know they will last me for years and I am now looking for glass containers with odor-seal lids.

Love these for everything else, but they don't work well with recipes that require 9" dishes
I've had these for almost a year and they're still in perfect condition. Over the years I've been disappointed with the decline of Pyrex products, but these gems were definitely worth the price. I wash them in the dishwasher (top or bottom rack) with no problem, I use them in the oven (though not under the broiler very often) up to 425 degrees, and once cool pop the lid on and refrigerate them. I've also placed them in the unheated over straight from the fridge and then turned it on (without letting the dish sit out for awhile) and have had no problems. I've also dropped them on the tile ceramic floor a time or two without so much as a chip. One drawback is the shape and size of these dishes. While the volume of the large one makes it ideal for typical casserole and baked-good recipes, it is deeper narrower than a typical 9" dish, making it difficult for timing corn bread or brownies. After a few months I ended u purchasing a set of 9" square and 9x12" rectangular dishes in addition to these. They're great for roasting vegetables or making casseroles, but not for recipes that require 9" dishes. Another drawback is that they don't nest with my 9" dish set--also from Pyrex.

Great Product
I purchased my first set of these bowls ten years ago. I use them to store food and reheat food. I even bake in the larger dishes. I like baking in them because I will split a recipe between two dishes. We eat from one container then I have a second container undisturbed that can be reheated from the fridge or can be put in the freezer for another day. The items have held up well from fridge to freezer to oven to dishwasher. I do wash lids in the dishwasher. They do not deform or melt. They snap securely to the containers. They are not, however, a waterproof seal. Liquids such as soup will leak around the lid if sloshed. Over the years I have replaced a few lids that had begun to crack around the edges, but I have not had trouble finding replacements online, so I don't consider that a problem. The biggest bonus has been getting away from plastic food storage containers to glass ones that do not leach chemicals into our food and that are not disposable items filling up landfills.***I DO NOT USE THE PLASTIC LIDS IN THE MICROWAVE***** I use something else like a glass plate to cover the food when heating.

Great product. The lids suck
Great product. The lids not so much. Some of them stopped being airtight after my initial wash before using them. I only wash them with cold water too.

A great size for storing leftovers and for taking leftovers to work. Works perfectly for me, and very reasonably priced.

Really nice, thick glass
Strong and able to go in the freezer. Really nice, thick glass. Made well.
