Good spark when need it on the Go.. looks good and built strong.. very easy to use. It works good anywhere at any weather.. it's worth the money for survival or just another very useful item..

The overall feel and looks are very good however the generation of sparks is less than my other fire starters'. I will keep this one in my daypacks for local day hikes.

Building out two outdoor kits and these two ferro rods in combo seemed perfect. Nice quality case with the exception that one button compass came without water absolutely negating that function on one of the rods. Overall still a good buy, I wish I could rate it higher for quality because the casing and rod are great quality minus the compass defect.

The parts all fit well. They don't look cheap. Very good for the price. If you want a fire starter in a small package, this is very efficient. The compass is a nice little bonus. Just be aware that this is more of a backup option. It works, but if you are planning to use it on purpose and often, get one of the large 5 or 6 inch rods so you can blast out a bigger stream of sparks when you are stuck with tinder which is less than perfect. The big ones are much easier to brace against a log and target whatever tinder you have.

Was very excited to add these to my bug out gear and tackle bag . Glad I tried them both . On 1 unit the compass is stuck and has no way to float or move and neither unit sparks when struck by striker or a knife blade . Hoping the next ones I order work as these units are small and very affordable if they only worked id got more of the same . Back to the search bar

They are not the best and they are not the worst. You have really get the coating off of them before you strike and you have to have a sharp 90 degree and bare down pretty hard to get good sparks.
