Will this power a toaster, small space heater

NO...and it says this plainly in the manual. It might even say it in their Amazon listing, but I can't remember. Any appliance with a heating element will draw too much power for the iGen to power. This is strictly for electronic gizmo's like computers, phones, a small light, and even a T.V. for a short time. Nothing like fans, coffee makers, heaters, toasters...nothing like that. I like my iGen 200...would recommend it...but be sure you read the manual for correct operating instructions.

Does the igen160 or igen200 have overcharge protection?

Yes it does turn off by itself if things are plugged in for awhile when using DC

Will 150 watts power my furnace

Probably not, since it cannot even power a Keurig. This appliance is good to power/recharge cell oboes and iPads an lights.
