Somewhat redundant
If you've had a good teacher all year, as was the case for me, much of the information in the book is redundant. There aren't any hidden secrets or strategies for this exam really; you read the passages, then answer the following questions, and for the essays your plan your arguments, then write. I ended up skipping straight to the practice exams after reading several pages on redundant information. If you've had a good teacher, you're better off without this book, but if you truly feel lost, this book may help. Since I had a good teacher, I found that looking at sample multiple choice questions and sample essay responses helped me get a good grasp on the test, as I had already mastered the content.

Perfect for acing the exam, just the right amount of information as compared to Barrons
For those of you attempting to decide between the Princeton Review and Barrons editions for any AP study guides, I would definitely recommend the Princeton Review because it covers the important topics without being an overload of information like Barrons. Barrons is admittedly more complex, but for the student looking for a study guide to pass the exam with top marks rather than learning a bunch of overkill information, Princeton Review does the trick. Plus, because it's more manageable due to having less unnecessary information, the Princeton Review copy is easily managed in one whole night of cramming for a somewhat prepared student, as opposed to Barrons.

Helpful as a guide, can't carry you to a 5
This book was useful as a terminology reference and getting to know the exam. Personally, I think to do well in the AP Lang and Comp test, you have to have good reading comprehension and be a bit well read (or have written papers on a few famous books). This is true for both English AP exams. Thus, test prep books shouldn't be what you spend your last min cram sessions on (except maybe the test practice).

So far, pretty helpful!
I haven't yet taken the exam, obviously, but so far, this book seems to be really helping with review by helping me learn my class material better, and reinforcing. I'm sure that come closer to the exam, it'll become even more useful. I'll post another review after the exam to see how effective it was, but right now as an in-class study tool and material re-enforcer, I like it! Thus far, I recommend it.

Good
This was very helpful. The part about the multiple choice answers are always in the passage, is so true. If you can learn anything from this book, that's it. Because they really are right there! You just have to not be deceived by the other answers. Essay help was also very good

AP Lang & Comp 2012 Review
I find this book to be very resourceful and it contains lot's of information about how to make your writing better. One frequently used section is the vocab in the middle of the book, where a large list of vibrant words are listed along with definition.

Great purchase
My son is taking AP English in High School and this has been a wonderful tool to help with the things that he needs to know for not only this class, but to help him prepare for the AP Exam at the end of the year. Received the book very promptly, it was in brand new condition and we are very pleased. Would definately buy from this seller again. Thanks!

Excellent AP Books!
The Princeton Review Cracking the AP "Put your subject name here" are the B.E.S.T. They always have accurate information and the practice items are solid. The answer section is clear and concise and do not appear to have any errors. Other AP practice books have obvious errors. Stick with Princeton Review - from one "Tiger Mom" to another.
