love this little vacuum!
I LOVE this vacuum. i have an intex 10' round pool and i just recently upgraded from the cartridge filter to a sand filter and tho it has made a HUGE difference it does shoot a good amount of sand that then builds up and sits at the bottom of the pool. im also surrounded by many different trees that dump all kinds of stuff in the pool. this vacuum picks it all up with ease. i charged it up and was able to go out and clean up my entire pool no problem. if your also looking to pick up sand and silt it comes with small skimmer sock type filter to put inside that reg trap bag and it catches it all with no promblem. the only 2 neg things i would say is the trap bag is very small and fills up fairly quickly. just doing my small 10' round pool i had to empty and rinse the bag 3 or 4 times. its not terribly time consuming but if you are going to use this for a larger pool be prepared for quite a bit of emptying and rinsing. also the trap door doesnt fully close so if you dont pull the vacuum out of the pool quickly when removing it, it will dump a bit of stuff you just vacuumed up back in the pool. giving the vacuum a quick swift exit from the pool seems to fix this issue completely for me. all in all this little vacuum exceeded my expectations and gets the job done.

Works great
I waited awhile to write a review to make sure I liked it. I researched chargeable pool vacuums since last year before I bought this. I would, hands down, buy this vacuum again.I have an expensive Dolphin automatic pool vacuum that works great, but I still wanted something light to quickly get the bugs that accumulate in my shallow end. This vacuum picks them up great. I even drag it down to the deep end to help the dolphin out when I’m in a hurry. The only problem with that is that the telescoping handle won’t lock in place. At first I thought it was broken since nothing happens when you turn it on. But once you submerge it, it works great. If you notice that it’s not picking up very well, it needs a charge. Only downside is that it takes a long time to charge. Now I just make sure to charge it overnight and I’m good to go in the morning.I had 2 Intex blue rim pools over 10 years before we put in our inground pool. Intex products seem to be very good quality, in my opinion.

THIS THING SUCKS!
Reasonable expectations equals (probable) product satisfaction.Like you I read reviews of a number of similar products before before purchasing this one. As usual there some negative and some positive entries, so I look for a trend (i.e. design flaw, broken on arrival...multiple people saying the same thing.) after reading them, buying it, and using it, I had a good idea of what to expect. The bottom line is, it works as it should. It is a small vacuum for a small pool or spa. If your expectations are that this is a cheap little maintenance tool to get the dust and debris off the bottom, you'll be happy with it! If on the other hand you expect it to be a magic wand that with one waive will erase months of neglect, you will be disappointed and probably give it a bad review. That said...It really does work as described. I use it on a 12' inflatable pool. On the first use I had some neglect to undo--very dusty bottom. I used the microfilter sock (included) and discovered quickly that the secret is to clean in frequently. I hosed it out 5X during the initial clean up (it was pretty bad). On subsequent routine uses the microfilter will survive the entire pool. With the standard debris basket only the machine will pick up waterlogged pine needles, bugs, blowing seed pods....anything that will fit through the 1" or so hole. Battery life appears good as I have yet to run out of juice in the midst of a cleaning. It has been noted in other reviews, but I'll mention it here as well; the USB charging cord is an odd feature as this is an outdoor gadget. Maybe its a safety low-voltage thing. Whatever...it puts electricity into the battery, which makes it suck. One more point unrelated to the quality or operation of the product, but rather to the vendor; This unit was clearly used when I got it. I considered sending it back on principle as that wasnt what I ordered, but as I'm sure they expected me to do, I said "meh, I'll try it first." I'm glad I did as it works fine, but that's poor form. The 4 stars in the rating is for the product, not the vendor.

Definite Improvement over the water driven "vacuum"
We recently purchased this because a friend who has a similar Intex pool recommended it for the sand and small debris. The original system we used was cumbersome because it had to be connected to a hose. It also had a filter bag that was not fine enough to capture the sand and small dirt that seem to always be present at the bottom. The vacuum comes with 2 vacuum heads. First I thought the large triangular one would work best. After several attempts I realized this is not the case. As several reviewers have stated it pivots too easily which makes it flip up when you are pulling the vacuum backward. It also seems this head doesn't do much in the way of large debris either. The smaller oval shaped head works much better and is easier to get into tight spaces. Since it is fixed in place, it seems to work both while pushing and pulling. It also captures much larger debris.I find it is worth it to vacuum first with the fine filter in place inside the coarse filter to remove everything you can. Then with only the coarse filter in place to get the rest of the larger debris. Anything left I use a skimmer to remove.Keep in mind that the suction power decreases as the filter becomes clogged so it's worth it to make a sweep and then wait a few to make another-maybe rinsing the filter between if you have a bunch of debris. I can usually capture pretty much everything in a couple passes. Go slowly-I find if you move too fast it just stirs up the "dust" and you have to wait longer for it to settle.I make sure to rinse all parts with clean water after using and let it dry before plugging it in and I have not had any difficulty charging.
