A Flavorful Journey with Hikari Organic Miso Paste
As a seasoned home cook with a penchant for exploring diverse cuisines, I recently had the pleasure of incorporating Hikari Organic Miso Paste into my culinary repertoire. This umami-packed gem has proven to be a game-changer in my kitchen, elevating the depth of flavors in a variety of dishes. One of the standout features of the Hikari Organic Miso Paste is its exceptional quality. The organic certification ensures that the ingredients are of the highest standard, providing a clean and wholesome foundation for my recipes. Knowing that the miso paste is free from artificial additives and genetically modified organisms adds an extra layer of confidence in its use. The rich, complex flavor profile of this miso paste is truly commendable. The combination of soybeans and rice creates a well-balanced umami taste that enhances the savory notes in both traditional Japanese dishes and innovative fusion recipes. The paste's texture is smooth and luscious, making it effortless to incorporate into various culinary creations. Hikari Organic Miso Paste is incredibly versatile, proving its worth in soups, marinades, dressings, and glazes. I found that it effortlessly imparts a robust umami flavor to classic miso soup, while also serving as an excellent base for a delectable glaze for grilled meats. The depth and complexity it brings to dishes are unmatched, making it a must-have for any kitchen. The packaging deserves a mention as well. The convenient resealable pouch ensures the freshness of the miso paste, preventing it from drying out or losing its potency over time. This practical design is not only environmentally friendly but also practical for maintaining the quality of the product.

Arrived in Good Condition
Arrived in good condition (not damaged, sealed) and tastes great! I got this for a recipe so I'd never tried white miso before this and thus can't really comment on taste compared to other companies' white miso. Personally, I thought it tasted excellent though. Other reviewers commented on the color (mine came a bit lighter than peanut butter, somewhere between dark yellow and brown) but a quick google search of 白味噌 (white miso in Japanese) shows similarly colored miso pastes so I'm not concerned by this. It's still lighter than red miso paste so I'm confident this is white Miso Paste and not defective. While the paste itself is not white it becomes more of a yellow-ish white after preparing it as soup. Overall I would buy this again: it's a good price for the amount you get, lasts pretty long, and can be used in a variety of dishes (I like to use it in a marinade for salmon, but also to make soup).

Yummiest... EVER. :D~
Ooooh, do I love this stuff! Best brand I've tried (and white miso's my favourite). In hot (not boiling) water, it's every bit as scrumptious as it is with tofu, kelp, and whatever else goes into the Official Miso Soup recipe. (Green onions, btw.) Some put great stock in this, erm, great stock (SORRY! Hehe) as a warrior against cancer, carcinogens, and assorted medical maladies. Including hypertension. I am neither God nor a medical researcher, so I truly can't say if any of the studies I've read were, in fact, "always ___-fighting for ALL creatures who ingest it" (maybe it's not the miso or the fermentation but the KELP--perhaps it's a great absorber and detoxifier!) BUT I can say that 1) it's REALLY yummy, 2) I don't believe that anti-hypertension thing for a second, coz I swell up like a puffer fish after putting an official suggested serving size into my soup dish. (So I use half the suggested serving size, and it's flavourful enough for me. But my taste-buds are burned out from acid (HCl, not LSD), so maybe it won't be possible for you to pull that trick. Anyway, happy cooking to you, and hope you enjoy this ROCKING white miso as much as I did :)

Delicious Product, Flimsy Packaging
I don't have all that much experience with different misos but have found that I like this brand of miso a lot, using it in quinoa, rice and lentil dishes where it adds its own distinctive flavor in place of regular salt. As much as I hate to give less than 5 stars for this, my issue is that the packaging is so flimsy. On my initial experience, after a while the lid kept coming open in the fridge. I've also received another container of the brand, broken open, as has been the experience of other reviewers. For the reasons mentioned above, I hope it is safe to point out that it would make a lot of sense if, as another option, Amazon would consider offering this brand of miso on Fresh.

Best miso soup.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this, but to say I am satisfied with it would be a drastic understatement. Combined with the umami ninja dashi infuser packs, this makes the best miso soup I have ever had outside of Japan. The flavor is rich without being overpowering. It is easy to cook, and one container can make massive amounts of soup. And not just okay soup. It comes out tasting like high end restaurant quality in terms of flavor and texture. It is beyond impressive for the price. I can't wait to try the red miso paste next. Fast, easy, and delicious soup that makes everyone I serve it to happy.

Yummy, Bang for you Buck!
Miso is so expensive in Whole Foods and I haven’t had a chance to go out to a specialty market since COVID has made shopping horrible. This miso is such a good price and it is absolutely delicious. It adds umami to soups, sauces, and well...you could put it in anything. A note about the shipping; many people were frustrated that they got a broken container. Mine was perfectly fine. The provider cannot control what happens to parcels on the road. Don’t let that deter you. This miso paste is a great but.

Tasty Miso!
I ordered this for a salad dressing recipe and while I have good Asian markets locally they can sometimes be a bit intimidating if you don't know exactly what you're looking for...Amazon made this easy for me. I love Miso soup and embarrassingly never knew (or thought to research) what went in it. If you haven't either this is basically Miso soup in a paste.....how did I miss that?! This stuff is great. I could eat it as is ....save for the salt content not making it something you really should eat by the spoonful. In addition to salad dressing and soup I can see adding this as a spice to recipes for that special little taste you can't put your finger on. As the top on the top really didn't seal very well I transferred to a Mason jar and popped it in the fridge where research tells me it will keep for quite some time. Looking forward to using this in all sorts of recipes!

Cannot stop eating this
I've always loved miso soup and cannot believe I didn't think to make it at home until now. I was unable to find miso paste in stores, so I turned to Amazon. I think I've made it every day for like a week straight... I use 4 cups of water to two tea spoons of the dashi granules (also got on amazon) and bring to a boil. Then I add three tablespoons of this miso paste and whisk until smooth. I top it with green onions and call it a day (its my lazy soup) and only add the tofu etc.. if i feel like putting in the extra effort. I would have all four cups of the soup myself, but my husband always smells it and comes to the kitchen to take half of it lol. Its wonderful. It's delicious. It's perfect. Shipping did take like two weeks though... so be ready to wait. It's worth it.
