Grit for most sizes of chickens
I recently tried Scratch and Peck Feeds Cluckin' Good Layer Grit for my backyard flock of chickens. This product offers a great solution for supplementing the dietary needs of my laying hens. I appreciate that Scratch and Peck Feeds uses all-natural and organic ingredients in their products. Knowing that my chickens are consuming a high-quality, non-GMO grit gives me peace of mind. I noticed that my chickens eagerly consumed the grit, which suggests that it is both palatable and beneficial to them. I appreciate the different size options available, which cater to various breeds and sizes of poultry. The texture of the grit is just right, allowing my chickens to easily pick and consume it. There are some larger sized pieces of granite in this bag which my chickens do not consume. If you bantom chickens I would check another source for smaller sizes.

Great
Nice granite, hardly dusty at all and shipped very fast. I wanted it to make 'gritty mix' for my succulents and this size is a little big for that - most pieces sized 1/4-1/2 inch, with a few a bit smaller. I would purchase from this supplier again but for gritty mix, go for 'grower size' rather than this 'layer size'.

Scratch and Peck Products are Always High Quality
We're very glad we found Scratch and Peck 6 years ago. Across the board, their products are high quality, trustworthy, and sourced in the United States. A couple of years back I had to contact them with a question, and their customer service was prompt and professional, too. I highly recommend Scratch and Peck, including this layer grit.

Too big
My birds won't eat it. I think the grit is too large.

large grit
Very disappointed. The grit is good and made of high quality stone. It is very clean in appearance. But, sad to say the majority of the contents are huge in size. A small percentage of this grit is what I'd expected. But 80-85% is way too large. To me, the value, doesn't match the availability for my hens to use this. So this grit in my situation, will not function in the way it is intended. I like Scratch and Peck products, so this was not expected.
