Lifegard AF-94-19 Mecanical Filter Modules, Double Capacity

Item received with the box open, no packing inside box no tape to hold box open. The Filter is a good one, the merchant is terrible. This was likely an open box resale.

These are nothing but useless junk.I used PVC glue in the base connectors, I should have wrapped it with silicon rescue tape.(Rescue silicon tape is a must have!) If I had used the rescue tape the connections at the bottom may not have come apart. The problem was, When I tried to reposition the filter, it torqued ever so slightly; that cracked the seal of PVC pipes and the glue. Once I fixed the install nightmare off to my next problem.this system fails miserably with maintenance.I have the Mechanical and chemical double filters. These are impossible to service, when it becomes clogged,and it doesn't take long for that to happen.If you don't have it extremely secure at both bases to the floor or some kind of anchor and the connection between the 2 isn't 100% secure it will come apart. Emptied 30gallons from my tank in seconds. After dealing with that, I still couldn't get the top cap off without using a crowbar and hammer!These are going back! Since I had a powerhead for the lifegard system that never really got going.(One time with the maintenance was enough.) I decided to use 2 Fluval 406 canisters I had in the closet. (without turning them on.) in series with eachother off a powerhead.This is far easier to set up and perform routine maintenance on then the system designed this way.

Both bleed valves at the top of the units cracked at the parting line when installing gauge hand tight only

This filter hands down is the best addition to my 200 gal aquarium crystal clear water

Just opened my box and the threads are trashed. Window to return has past. Open your part up as soon as you get it!
