I was pretty sick of having to deal with any distortion/fisheye lens problems with my previous webcam, so I decided to purchase this one specifically to avoid that sort of thing. The installation was very simple in my case, just plug it in and Windows 10 automatically detected it and I was up and running!The quality itself is superb, and the wide angle lens, as stated, has no fisheye effect. One of the things I did notice and should point out is that under low-light conditions, the camera tends to not be able to focus itself as well - however I don't think this is a problem with the webcam itself and is appropriate behavior for low light.Overall though, I highly, highly recommend this webcam! If you're looking for a cost-effective, good quality webcam with no distortion/fisheye this is it.

I was originally looking for the highly recommended model and I see it's out of stock and the price has been bid up beyond what I am willing to pay. Loads of those offered used at the same price. This is like the work from home version of ticket scalping! The Ifroo came up on an ad and I took a chance on it. It came in a box much like the famous phone you know, and I was amazed at the picture quality. Sure enough, no fisheye effect, the color may lean a bit toward warm...making me look more healthy! Yes, I am Irish, how did you know? I just plugged it in, no software to install. I appreciate the indicator light when it's plugged in, plus a green light when it's actually on. Bonus: the microphone actually works well! Loud and clear from a couple of feet away and I don't talk very loud. For all I know it's from the same factory that makes overpriced recommended brand...or the famous phone you know. Just speculation on my part. This is a nice plug and play video camera. No fish eye as advertised. Video quality is excellent. However the field of view is extremely wide. I think its has a very extreme wide lens for video conference applications for a single user. This seems to be the industry standard (what are they thinking?). If you don't mind a very very wide camera view this is an EXCELLENT camera for the price

The picture is impressively clear with little light. You can see you face distinctly and your eyes are easily in view which is vital for monitored collegiate exams. Mic isn’t great but that’s totally okay I just needed a mic for my exams and a view FaceTime calls on my Mac mini (just buy a separate mic for better quality). The mic audio is a little tinny and boxed-in kind of quality for lack of better words. Installation was beyond easy you just plug it in to a USB 2.0/3.0 port or do what I did and buy a usb 3.0 to usb type c adapter ($4) and plug into the thunderbolt port on my Mac mini/pc. People complain about the cameras construction but it’s more than adequate you’re not gonna throw it. It WILL survive occasional drops on the floor. Beware though that the power cord is built into the camera but does have reinforcement around the port. Solid solid school camera for desktops or laptops with crap cameras.

Disappointing webcam overall.Although it produced a moderately clear picture, it was noticeably grainy - it can't be truly 1080p - and the audio and video signals it captured were significantly out of sync with each other (the video was delayed compared to the audio). I wondered if that might be partially due to latency issues with the computer, but I also tested it with a really fast computer, and found the same problem. Other minor issues: the mounting clip doesn't grip my monitor securely, and the swivel has very little degrees of tilt; also, the color was off in my test using incandescent lighting (exaggerating blues).On the positive side, as advertised, there was no fish-eye distortion, and I had no installation issues on MacOS 10.12 or 10.14. Also, the price was low, so if you can live with the other issues, this may still be a decent value for some people.

This is a reasonably-priced camera with a decent picture. Works well with Windows 10 PCs.

I was looking for a webcam that does not produce a "fisheye" image (i.e. a curved image produced by a wide angle lens). There is a very limited range of "no fisheye" webcams available, and finding one proved to be harder than I thought, but the image produced by this great webcam is a genuine non-fisheye view and I am really pleased. Both my PC and my laptop (both running Windows 10) recognised it straight away, so it couldn't have been easier to set up. The picture quality is excellent and the camera build quality seems to be very good. Only negative point is the fact that there is no protective lens cap.

I am very happy with this camera. My laptop camera is not good, so this one makes me look good. Super good picture at a very good price. Recommended AAA+++
