Kosher Rams Horn Polished Shofar by Peer Hastam - With Guide & Anti Odor Spray (13"-14")

Happy, happy, happy! The polished 15-16" shofar is perfect. Barely any smell, certainly not a problem, so have not tried the included odor neutralizer yet. Have listened to others who learned to play them, and was able to sound it right away. Delivery was promised between Jun 9 and 30th; received on May 27th. Simply delighted!

The shofar arrived on time. (I wanted it for a church service children's story about Joshua and Jericho.) It's very beautiful, makes a wonderful, impressive blast with upper and lower partials. The kids LOVED it, and I now am displaying it on my piano! Thank you very much!

I love the color of the Shofar. The size is perfect for what I needed it for. It did not have an order like some of the comments I have read before purchasing this particular Shofar. I am using this Shofar for the week of Sukkot. I have been practicing on my friend's Shofar so this one was easy to blow, unlike some of the other smal Shofars I have been reading about. I am hapoy with this Shofar and believe I have made the right choice being that this is my first purchase.

I bought this for a simple purpose: To announce the beginning of our church service for the Feast of Trumpets. We are a Christian church that observes the biblical feast days and it's great to have a shofar to remind us of our roots.As far as the shofar goes here's the pluses: Arrived on time. Was what I expected. Was reasonably priced. Is authentic. Is easy to sound ONCE you learn how. Which leads to a couple of things which prevented it from getting 5 stars. No instructions on how to "sound" it. It would be fairly easy to insert a piece of paper with shofar basics for us newbies. As it was though the internet came to the rescue with lots of instruction and videos. And once the technique is done it's easy to sound this. Took me less than 5 minutes to make a sound after reading about how to do it. I've been practicing a little every day since I got it on Saturday and every day it's easy to just pick it up and blast a few calls.The other thing though is the smell. I know there's nothing that can be done about it but wow is it smelly . Don't know if that's just because of the humidity or what but you sure don't want to smell while playing. It does come with a little bottle of shofar deodorizer that can be sprayed in there but beware that you don't get it on the part where you're going to put your mouth or else you'll get a mixture of deodorizer and shofar stink on your lips.Overall it's a good value, authentic and easy to play but KNOW that it's going to be smelly.

When it arrived, the first thing I wanted to do was smell it since so many reviewers stated that these shofars have an "odor"...well, to my surprise, there was little to no smell...after a few times of blowing the shofar however, the smell was horrendous! I'm thinking maybe it's the heat from our breath that made it smell nice and ripe? Either way, we used the odor neutralizer spray (which smells a lot like febreeze) and it seemed to help...however I plan to use essential oils to help from here on out because the neutralizer spray smelled a little strong of chemicals to us. I've read in several places that children have an easy time learning on the small shofars but adults really struggle on the small ones...this one was SO easy to learn on! Almost all of us were able to make it sound on the first attempt. We couldn't be more pleased with our very first shofar! Excellent purchase. I highly recommend it and plan to order one for each of the children eventually.

I can't believe how pretty this shofar is! It sounds really good! Hubby picked it up and proceeded to make a VERY loud and melodic sound. It arrived when promised, and I look forward to experiencing the spiritual significance of the call of the shofar in the coming feasts and days ahead.

First, a confession: We are not Jewish. My daughter is a huge LOTR fan and asked for a horn like Boromir's for Christmas with no real thought she'd get one. (We've found a few and the price was way beyond us.) Searching Amazon for a possibility, we came across this horn. I ordered it thinking there was no way it would be here on time as I'd ordered it Dec. 16 and it was shipped the 21st from NYC. Lo and behold, it arrived the 24th! My daughter is thrilled and learning how to blow it. We're all impressed with how beautiful it is. A great product and great service!

I have blown a few shofars and this is by far the smallest opening I have ever seen. It is still blowable but doesn't feel natural and took a little practice. I do not recommend.

j'ai acheté ce schofar pour mon mari qui lui est juif!, il est vraiment contant , sa produit des sons variés selon la pression d'air .pour y jouer il suffi de le placer à une extrémité de la bouche et de souffler en pinçant les lèvres....pas évident à expliquer mais si moi j'ai réussi .....légère odeur , mais vraisemblablement c'est normal , bref je devais le recevoir le 26 , et bien j’ai reçu un jour à l'avance , je le recommande vivement .

Instrument magnifique et authentique avec un bon son qui peut être modulé selon la façon de souffler. Ce shofar, répond à toutes mes attentes.
