Like the original Spirograph, especially the 'Super' version as there are millions of combinations, but this is perfect when waiting on a friend (driver) in a Docs office... kids and grown-ups are both fascinated when you start making designs... Give them away to kids and hey are always glad to get them. The metal gears run cleaner and hold up better than the plastic, even thought there are a lot less options. Exactly as described and delivered fast in perfect condition.

I have friends with small children, and bought the deluxe spirograph for them to play with. They were pretty rough with it and broke a lot of pieces. This one is made of metal and is quite solid. The kids love it.

This is a nice gift set. But they aren’t as smooth to turn as my original plastic ones. Maybe with use they will work better.I would buy again as a gift.

A good start, spirograph! Now for the rest of the shapes! We need the little football-shaped and the x-shaped pieces! :)I love it. It's nostalgic, maybe. I dunno. I have bought several sets over the years, even as an adult, but the plastic pieces never last. This set seems like it might last... longer than the inserts that keep it in its box. Should be interesting to see how it holds up in 20 years! It's basically impossible to ask a company to not use plastic though. I get it.

I had one of these when I was a kid. It was the original hard plastic clear kind. I like this one because it's made of some type of metal and it works well considering other plastic brands out there don't work well. I use this in my art practice. It works well.
