No glare
The oval design in black, blocks the sun's glare and significantly adds to the clarity. Just like a hat with a visor, or a sun visor in your car. Sure, you lose a bit of peripheral vision, but it's worth it.Another reviewer mentions nose placement with a different type of mask, really, your nose is in the same place on your face, no matter the mask, ha haIf using this madk in salt water, be sure to rinse with fresh water when finished, the salt will degrade the rubber quite quickly.I carry a small spray bottle of biodegradable soap to keep the lense clean, this can help with putting fins on as well.Gotta go, the water is calling me.

they had it right in the old days
Glass, metal and rubber. I was going to buy this as a joke. Then I used them and they were amazing during a river dive. They never fogged up, they never leaked and using them was easy. I'm going to buy another set and have it as a spare. Old school is the way to go. If I could give these goggles 10 stars I would.I'm still using these 3 years later in the pool and river diving. They last a long time if you wash and dry them after every use and store properly.

Great vintage style dive mask
Love the style, I've been wanting an old-school dive mask like this for years. Very well constructed. I've had no issues with leaks and this one has soft silicone pockets by your nose that allow you to pinch your nose closed to valsalva. I have a decent sized nose, and it's nowhere near touching the glass. However, the bottom of the skirt, where it presses on your upper lip, digs in a little bit which can get uncomfortable after a long time. Only gripe is the straps occasionally come unlocked, and can some times loosen up while you swim. Though the seal on my face is so good that I could almost wear this mask without a strap at all. Wonderful product, highly recommend!

Good for short term use/maybe not salt water?
I feel like this is somewhat a good quality mask. Some pros are that it fits on your face fairly well, comfortable & fogging isn't too bad.. The major con for me which is why I rated this mask 3 stars is because it just didn't last as long as I would hope it would. We live in Hawai'i and go to the beach weekly with that said it did not last long. The strap first just started coming out of the loop all the time & then shortly after that they black strap turned like a whitish color and kept breaking off to the point now its not usable. Could be because of all the use in the salt water, being left out in the sun along with the amount of usage. So if you need a mask for just once in a while I think it's a great mask and would last a lot longer then it did for myself.

Doesn't leak
I bought these for my son for diving. His other ones leaked & were giving him a headache. These ones work good, they don't leak, easy to adjust, & he hasn't had a headache from pressure around his eyes, & he said they feel good on his face. I would recommend these.

Memories.
I’m 45. I play in the pool with my 3 kids with this. Great mask for Oh! $! Hit a _____ moments on the water to keep on the boat. Fun for recreational diving nostalgia. End of day, diving isn’t tennis so blow proper money on a mask. This is a walk down memory lane. As an expert diver, I suggest something more modern. Great masks are $30+ do that but do this too if you love being under. It’s what grandpa wore.

Dangerous
Design looks solid, with definite old school vibe, and the dimples for securing eyeglass frames seemed practical—but I’m very glad I didn’t have mine in when tested the mask. The head strap was difficult to adjust properly due to how stretchy the rubber was. Worse, the tension buckles that “secure” the band to the mask are inadequate: poorly designed, weak, and shoddily made. Two minutes into my first swim the straps loosened enough for water to trickle in. I retightened and tried again. When I was under water, 6-8 feet down, the drag of the snorkel pulled the strap right out of the buckle. The mask fell away and would have been lost if I’d been slower trying to snag it.
