Hank's Surplus Nomex and MultiCam pilot gloves are sold in two version: Nomex (DuPont) fabric (Colors Black, OD and Tan). Nomex material is not fire proof, it is only flash flame resistant. It is designed not to melt at high temperatures when exposed to a flash flame. Compared to regular nylon fiber, Nomex is a much better flame resistant fiber. Do not use these gloves as oven mitts or to handle hot objects. Second is MultiCam Camouflage with waterproof properties and NanoSphere water repellant coating. Brand is Hank's Surplus. Both glove versions consist of soft and durable sheep skin leather palm and thumb area. Elastic wrist area. Gloves provides comfortable snug fit. Please note the MultiCam camouflage fabric is not fire resistant and will burn if exposed to extreme heat or flash fire. The MultiCam fabric is breathable, 93% Nylon/7% Spandex. Gloves are not 100% waterproof, just the MultiCam fabric has the waterproof properties, palm side is sheep skin. Short sizing will cover wrist area. Long sizing will come up to forearm. General Glove Sizing Chart: Small (7), Medium (8), Large (9-9.5), X-Large (10-10.5), XXL (11).

Fantastic glove
"These gloves offer dexterity but also protection while soldering my stained glass projects. When I use flux, I cover my new gloves with a disposable pair of nitriles because I don't want the flux to hurt my gloves, they are that perfect. Thin and not bulky. Comfortable. And so reasonably priced, really, thought they would be a LOT more. Thanks again Hanks!"

Wonderful driving gloves
It’s hard to find long men’s gloves but these are perfect. They are snug and great for getting in a cold car...they keep your wrists and lower arms nice and warm until the engine has time to heat up...I leave mine in my glove box for just that reason. Would not advise wearing them for warmth if planning on long exposure to harsh cold outside elements...that is not what they were intended for.

Tight Fit proves No Issue
These gloves are KICK[gluteal area], they are a little snug but this is INTEGRAL if not intentional, in a good way. From what I hear all nomex gloves are like that, and as long as the sizing is right they're never -too- tight. It might feel that way before wearing them more often so don't be discouraged from that. If you like keeping shirt sleeves out of the way of your hands/wrists, these are great for that; long as the sleeves are thin of course. Since they were originally made for military pilots, the gloves are really good for driving. Just don't expect anything fancy like sewing.

An Opportunity for Someone
This is more of an indictment of this style of glove, than the vendor. I've been using this style of gloves for decades. Yet, noone... I mean no one... has come up with a pair than can survive a first deployment nor first washing. This is an opportunity for someone to come up with a better solution.

GOOD QUALITY, WORTH THE MONEY!
Quick delivery, excellent quality. This is my 2nd pair and they are exactly what I was looking for. They keep your hands warm in cool weather and with a set of silk weight liners allow for use in colder conditions. I use them to paraglide and they are light enough to feel changes in the line tension yet block the wind and the longer length keeps the wind off your wrists. They are not going to keep you warm in very cold weather, but that is not what they are designed for. When properly sized, (a little on the snug side), they allow for flexibility and dexterity.

Be aware these will degrade pretty quickly if held in a flame
I'm a fire performer and I got these for use with my fire fans. They greatly reduce the heat you feel while using them and don't interfere with the use of the fans. Haven't gotten burned since using them, these prevent the pain from accidentally touching metal too close to wicks, etc. Be aware these will degrade pretty quickly if held in a flame, but are good for mitigating burns from quick contact with fire.

Lookin' gooooooood
I wanted some leather gloves to go with my leather jacket-thing. This is totally not what I was originally thinking of when I thought "leather gloves", considering the main thing about these gloves is the fact that they are fire resistant and stuff. In any case, they are cool, and make great driving gloves. I have never been a fan of thick gloves, and the relative freedom of finger movement is quite nice.My only real complaint is that I kinda had to modify them for them to actually be comfortable. If you look in the picture you'll notice on the wrist there's the zig-zag line hemming it in. While common, I didn't like the elastic on the other side of that line scratching at my wrist. Also, Hank's Surplus has a really annoying scratchy TAG as well. A few passes with a seam ripper cleared up those problems; I hope the stitching on the seams is as good as the stitching on the tag. Also, my thumb has a little less range of motion than I would like; I mean, yeah, it's made for holding a gun, but I like to do other stuff, too, you know?Other than those things, these gloves are good.

Not USGI, but a good alternative
It'd get five stars if it was proper USGI or made of the same materials. They're slightly thinner than the military issued green ones, but that is a plus in warmer weather. I haven't found USGI nomex gloves in black, so this might be as close as you're going to get. I use them for work, shooting, and riding my bicycle.
