Pleasant surprise! It's a small flashlight with a big light if needed. There are 4 settings, which range from a tiny light I guess if you just want to be seen from a distance, and progressively stronger. Most times I just use the 3rd as it's about what a typical light that size would emit. But, I have a black dog and live in the country where there is little light, and finding her at night outside is a challenge. The high beam is very bright and makes locating her much easier. It was bright enough that during a power outage I was able, from my yard a couple hundred feet away, to illuminate my neighbor's porch after they arrived at home at night, so the kids could make their way up the steps and get the door open. For it's size it is impressive. It fits in your pocket, but has a lot of power. I'm also impressed by the rechargeable battery. I don't know how long it will last, it's generic, but it's nice to be able to recharge and not waste batteries. It doesn't have an enormous lifetime if using it on high, but for occasional use it saves on using batteries, which I need for outages. Out here we are the last to get lights on, a big storm came through a few weeks ago and we lost power for about 5 days since we are the last of the 200k outages to be fixed. It's nice to save the regular batteries for that, and not waste them on daily(nightly) use tracking down my dog. Seems to be fairly water resistant, at least just walking around in the rain. On high it does get hot, so I don't use it on high unless I need it, but it doesn't get so hot it burns. Just don't like too much heat vs lithium batteries. Definitely recommend if you want something that isn't a big mag light club thing to lug around, and you can stick in your pocket when not using. Comes very nicely packaged as well, so would make a nice gift for dad, for Xmas. A must have for campers, or those of us in the woods and country.

Got this as a replacement for their original version after carrying it daily for 5 years and dropping for the last time apparently. This is brighter and lasts a long time with the rechargeable battery. I hope to get at least 5 years out of this light. I do wish it had one more setting between the high, 1000lm I think, and medium, 200lm I think, around 500-600lm would be nice.

The light itself is good quality, the adjustability is very nice although the button that adjusts the brightness is pretty difficult to find in the dark. The clip is useless due to poor placement, caught it falling out of my pockets multiple times until eventually it disappeared. Won’t be repurchasing unless these problems get fixed.

This is a powerful flashlight, very slim with a belt clip. I researched them as part of fire/rescue work and this came highly recommended, for good reason. Push on the back and a small light is shown, as in being in a tent and having to find your shoes. Push a separate button for three successive increases in brightness. And trust me, it is really bright. DO NOT shine this LED directly into someone's eyes on the high beam. In an exercise in stupidity, I did the "wet paint, I'll touch it to see" bit, looked into the beam for about two seconds and had a white spot in front of my eyes for about 30 seconds. I was in front of my house in the dark due to a noise we heard, perhaps a deer, low light didn't show much, medium picked it up and high it lit up the night, and the deer was clear. Cannot believe this for the price. My new go to light.

I bought this on a Prime Day sale based on Wirecutter reviews. Took it on vacation this summer. Loved being able to use "firefly" mode so I didn't wake my spouse when trying to navigate an unfamiliar hotel at night. Battery charge seems to last forever. I like being able to stand it on end and illuminate a bathroom. My only complaints are that it's a little heavy, and in the darkness it's hard to find the button that changes modes.
