Daiso Tk Concept Boiled Egg Timer

I was skeptical about this little insignificant looking device. That is until I actually used it. It's surprisingly spot-on with the accuracy of how your eggs are being cooked! Three stages, soft, medium, and hard. No more ugly green ring around the yolks. Easy to use, you simply drop it in just like a regular egg, and at the same time as your eggs into the pot. You may have a hard time seeing the level at first, but just use a large spoon or tongs to pick it up and see where it is at in the cooking stage, then let it settle back in. I also put it in the pan of cold water that I use to stop the cooking process, so that I know when the eggs are cool inside. It slowly cools down with the eggs, showing you just how cool the inside of the egg is. Once the color returns fully, your egg is cooled! It doesn't cool down as quickly as you might think, so I found that helps me to know when to stop cooling and start using. It helps when you'd like a cold egg rather than a warm one in your dish. If something strange or weird happens, I will most definitely update my review to show it. But thus far, it's very nice! Perfectly cooked eggs every single time now.

This egg timer works great! I got perfect hard boiled eggs the first time I used it. This gadget is so handy, and cute too!

The design of this egg timer is really cute, which is why I got this one instead of other timers with a plain design. At room temperature, the egg is a faint pink. You can see the color change from the outer ring to the inner ring as the water starts boiling. It changes to off white. It helps if you have a bright light over your range top, as there is only a small difference between faint pink and off white. (I used to have one of the plain design egg timers. The color change on that one was easily seen.) The calibration of this Daiso model is perfect for large eggs. You might want to let the water boil an extra minute for extra large eggs.

I use this every time I boil soft eggs for my ramen. Comes out perfectly every time.

Tried to make "medium" soft eggs. Unfortunately part of the indicator for "medium" changed color while the rest didn't. Tried twice. There was no consistency and it's basically useless to indicate when to remove the eggs from heat. Don't recommend it.

The product works as described and pictured. I would rate 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that it took a very very long time to get here. Probably the longest I've ever waited for a package to arrive- so long in fact that I actually forgot about it until it arrived.

It has a cute design, and it works fine, but the color choice is not right. The changing color is very close to the background color so it is a bit difficult to read (white on light pink). I am happy with the service though

Il prodotto è arrivato in condizioni perfette! Dopo averlo aperto e provato una o 2 volte, il colore non cambiava mai (nella confezione dice che da rossiccio passava a bianco, ma è arrivato che già era semi bianco) Molto dispiaciuto! Speravo davvero, ma è comunque un prodotto daiso.
