BLACK+DECKER LCS40 40V MAX Fast Charger

Bought to replace a 3 year old charger. According to the B&D service location, chargers are warrantied for just 2 years while batteries are for 3 years. This charger was very pricey, but worth the money. I have one 4-year old white 36V battery, two 2-year old white 40V batts, and a brand new black model 40V batt. They are all compatible with the new charger. I thought the older batteries were starting to fail, but it was a problem with the old charger instead The new one charges faster than the old. The more upright design is easier to quickly swap out a charged battery and slip in another. With all the leaf blowing and vacuuming required at this time of the year, it's great to have 4 batteries and a really quick charger to make it through 2 or 3 hours of leaf cleanup without running out of power. So glad not to have to use either a gas or corded leaf blower/vac! Thanks Black and Decker!

The charger works well and I’ve always liked the upright design, which makes it easier to see the batteries charging status when sitting in the cradle. Fast charging and well-built.

This new charger works well and fast-- just as advertised. In addition, we thought that one of our batteries was kaput but when we used this charger instead of the regular one, it came back to life— at least for now...

Be careful how you put the battery back. You think it is in, but it is not.

I got this charger for my B&D trimmer and 2 - 3.0 Ah Li batteries. It works well and charges the batteries quickly. I came in the house one time with a freshly discharged battery and put it on the charger. The charger flashed red. I looked at the flash pattern and it was telling me that the battery temp was too high. I set the battery aside for about a half hour and tried it again; the battery charged properly since it had cooled down. I like the over temp feature because it will prevent the battery from getting too hot and we all know what happens to Li batteries if you get them too hot; fires and possible explosions.

I bought this charger along with a 2-pack of 3.0 Ah 40V MAX batteries, and now very glad I did! While I purchased the batteries because my older batteries were beginning to experience faults from the original charger, I was pleasantly surprised to find this new charger finding no fault with my old 2.5 Ah batteries. It recharges them just fine as well! Full disclosure, I still use both chargers because leaving Lithium Ion Batteries depleted for too long, seems to lower their life. So I recharge my old batteries on their old charger, then top them off on the new one, and they seem to run longer than they did before I started using the new charger for Top Off. Still, no hard evidence for this claim.

Works as expected

everyone talks about their batteries but little thought is given to the charger. this baby charged my batteries in a short time and I was able to use them in my b and d mower that same day and get the job done. They have done a good job with this item and I can recommend it.

Bought "2nd hand" one. Package damage. Works great. Pretty much run an electric chainsaw steady with 2 batteries. Just started using it so don't know about longevity but, it's a charger don't beat it up should last.
