Very thorough but price high.
This is not for beginners but then it isn't advertised as such. If you're a nerdy sort then you'll enjoy working through this book. Also, it uses limited colour throughout (not a great deal) but that makes it more interesting. On the back of the book it says it takes the mystery out of algorithms and yes it helps. Am I glad I bought it? Yes, because this kind of thing 'entertains' me, however it is useful if you are preparing for an interview. The price is hefty though and I would suggest looking for an Amazon warehouse purchase if available. At the moment, it's selling for over £50.00 and that is really too much.

perfect for graduates
For some people which may have graduated such as myself and looking to get into software developer roles.. this book is for you.Now this book is a bit complex in certain topics, so you may want to go through your old university lecture slides or revise a bit on algorithms and data structures before this book.I haven't read the older version, so cannot say much about how great this new one is compared to the old one

I can't say much about the book content yet, but the print quality in UK is ...ok
My copy just arrived and it was printed at Lightning Source UK Ltd (Milton Keynes UK), you can see where it was printed on the very last page.It has an acceptable quality (see the picture, and compare it directly to the same one from another review) even though it's not as super-sharp as it could be.I'm willing to bet that is printed with an inkjet printer, not laser, and it shows (in a negative way).I was worried about the bad reviews (due to the poor print quality/construction) I considered buying it directly from Springer. At GBP50 is cheaper than buying it directly from Springer, and even then I wouldn't know if the copy that would arrive from Springer would be any better (i.e. laser printed), and their return policy is not as good as Amazon's.

Print quality...
Doesn't look like new and print quality is not good.

Excellent introduction to algorithms
This is one of the best books as a first introduction to algorithms that I ever read. It has just the right amount of theory (other books presents mostly theory and no suggestion for the practical use of the algorithms).

Excellent
I have the second edition. The third edition comes with some nice improvements. Source code is colored. Programming challenges from onlinejudge.org, hackerrank, and leetcode. A chapter about hashing and randomized algorithms.Great book.

Muy bueno.
Es un libro muy útil para aprender y practicar algoritmos. Necesario tener conocimiento de álgebra y cálculo.

Strongly NOT recommended for beginners! ...and maybe everyone
I do not recommend this book if you want to learn things from scratch. It is extremely hard to follow, with a lot of assumptions that are not explained or covered later in the book. It may have more value if you know a particular subject and want to refresh your knowledge, but otherwise it is a torture to read and learn from. One of the worst technical books I have ever had.

OMGG It's Perfect!
Oh my god I got it, I have been reading these books and annihilating my eyes on PDFs for so long, But somehow I finally get lucky enough to find such a sweet deal, This book is 100% original print, the binding is legit(it's hardcover), the print is legit(it's full color). I'm so happy I found the deal and got it at just 1500rs which is probably the best price it's ever going to be at
