Tricky lower nut removal and install
Took a bit to get the lower nuts (inside the fenders behind lights) off and new ones back on. Other than that it was an easy install. The following applies to JKs (ours is a 2016) but may apply to the JLs (I don't know because I don't have one). You have to remove the air box and the coolant overflow reservoir to get to the passenger side latch. There are some videos on YouTube that cover it. The one I saw was OK but the guy did the removal in high speed with no explanation. Most of it is obvious but getting the lower part of the air box out is a bit puzzling. It is just snapped in with three posts. If you wiggle it and pull up at the same time it will come out fairly easily. After that you have to be able to get to the nut to get it off. A universal joint for your ratchet or driver is helpful on the passenger side and almost essential on the driver side, unless you want to remove the computer and some other stuff. Getting the nut off is not that big of a problem because, if you drop it it's no great loss (it doesn't get reused). Putting the new one on is a bit trickier - I used the Fab Rats trick of putting a piece of paper towel over the socket and then shoving the nut into the socket to get it started (I'm sure this is an old trick but I first saw it on Fab Rats on YouTube). The upper latch is super easy. The latch works great once installed. You can adjust it by moving the upper latch up or down. Even adjusted to it's loosest setting it is still tight. The only thing I would like to see on this latch is some sort of grip extension for the lower latch. It is difficult to get a grip on it to open it but, since I don't pop the hood open very often, that's not that big of a deal. I like the barrel keys since they are a bit more robust than a flat key.

Pretty nice....not 100% indestructible
These went on pretty easy. On my 2015 Wrangler I needed to pull the grill off to get a wrench in on the passenger side, but that's not a big job. They installed and adjusted easily and LOOK STRONG. I guess a determined thief could drive the pin out, or tear them off the hood, but if they keep the amateur crooks from trying then they are worth it.

Easy to key lock. Needs more slack in overall latching process. Any new latch is hard to install.
Once installed: Easy to key lock and unlock, key rotates easy. But actually putting the lower lever onto the upper hook to close the hood, at least with my 2015 JK, I have to slap it a bit to get it onto hook. It doesn't reach as far up as it should. And so therefore it's hard to get the latch off the upper hoo, too, when opening the hood. This is a design issue. The hook portion actually has sliding slots to adjust this when installing, but not long enough--I used the most extreme position and it needs more slack. I suppose one could file those slots to make them long. Finally, removing old latch and installing Any new latch is going to be very hard because of the tight spaces to get a wrench into for the lower assembly in a Jeep. It was a bear. This is not fault of this latch design, -any- latch will be hard to swap. All that said, looks strong, looks good, it's a relief to have new latches now--old ones were shot.

Works like they should
They were slightly tricky to install, but not hard. Fit well and kept people from messing with the hood of the jeep. Worth the money. The function like they should and havr been using for a few months would any issues.

It's not easily installed, but still do-able with modest skills.
These little guys are a fine substitute for the JEEP JK stock loose-rubber clamped hood latches.Gaining access through removal of front grill, there is small access to install.Directions were very clear, but would still caution, to register/adjust/lock/unlock several times before final tightening of the nuts. You may need to adjust the hood's height pins, near the radiator, to get the best snug fit, while remaining operational.

Sturdy product, challanging to install if you dont have the right tools
It looks sturdy, elegant and matches my vehicle. A 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe.Note that no tools are provided and good luck if you don't have the right tools. I have a lot of tools but i didnt carry a spanners / wrench. Both to remove and add this, you will need a spanner / wrench as the space is very tight and no driver or socket will fit in to remove or fit it. Also, you will also definitely need an Allen key set to make sure it is tightened correctly. Now the lock is very simple plate. Given it locks down, I am hoping the vibrations from the vehicle wont unlock it accidentally and gravity will keep it that way! Not sure if it is stainless steel or plated. If its plated, good luck with it surviving the northwest conditions. Time will tell. For the manufacturers, add a couple of tools and provide that as another option so folks can but that if need be.
