Better than OEM! Super solid and fixed my door 100%. 2002 Sienna.
This should be your first place to fix the issue of the cable seeming to stretch out, even if the old handle is not snapped broken. Worn down OEM handles will fail to open the door even if not fully snapped apart inside. The plastic in the OEM and other aftermarket handles flexes too much and makes it hard to get a full pull on the release cable. Eventually the plastic wears out so much the door will refuse to open because there isn't enough cable being pulled. The issue is actually NOT that cable stretching, and just a matter of worn out handle parts.Mine fit in just fine with no alignment issues on a 2002 Sienna. If you are having alignment issues, just send it back for another copy and it might be a good fit. Seems to be a little variation in tolerances.I did have to bend the spot that holds the release cable in place so the two sides were a tiny bit closer together. If the cable is too far pulled out when the handle is at resting position, the door will not unlock because the door latch will block it from operating if the handle/cable are pulled too tight. By shortening the amount of cable pulled out to attach it to the handle, mine now locks and unlocks.I can notice the massive difference in stiffness with the all-metal handle over the OEM ones. It's an instant engagement with the release cable. The OEM handle could just barely release at the end of the handle travel when it was working.I might feel comfortable putting the large door panel back on now that I don't have to crawl back and release it by hand when it gets stuck like before.

Stronger than stock
Perfect fit, stronger than the plastic one. YouTube how to replace it if you've never done it. Took me about 30 minutes after watching.

Easy to install and open
The media could not be loaded. My rear tailgate handle broke. Went on line and ordered it and took 2 hours to install. Don't need special tools. Works well

2002 Sequoia
This is not an exact match to the original handle, nor is it a perfect fit. We had to bend the piece that’s acts as the cradle for the ball on the end of the cable in order for the back panel of the tailgate to mount flush again. We also had to “hammer” the anchor piece of the cable into its slot as it wasn’t cut big enough to snap in like the original. It took some work but we were eventually able to get the panel to mount mostly flush. The handle does work - time will tell if the anchor on the cable stays put or pops out with use. It is all metal, to plastic pieces at risk of snapping off. No other options we could find besides taking it to the dealer and paying A LOT more money to have it fixed.

Very Disappointing – Not Worth the Money!
I bought this tailgate handle assembly for my 2005 Toyota Sequoia, expecting a seamless replacement based on the OEM compatibility listed. Unfortunately, this product was a complete letdown.First, the fit was not exact as promised. It didn’t line up properly with my vehicle’s tailgate, and installation was far from straightforward. Even though it’s advertised as easy to install, I struggled to get it to fit right, and I’m not a beginner when it comes to DIY repairs.Additionally, the quality feels cheap and flimsy despite being marketed as durable with “upgraded metal.” It didn’t hold up after just a few uses, and I ended up having to use my old one.I’ve had much better experiences with other parts, and I expected much more from an American-owned company. Very disappointed and would not recommend this product!

Upgraded handle
Metal handle for first gen Sequoia. Definitely an upgrade from the crappy plastic handle Toyota used.
