Easy to use
I'm a bit of a part time artist and only just learning about these tools from art classes its easy to use I found with alot of art products you can get more expensive but that doesn't always make it better these do the job

Smooth and dark
I use these woodless graphite sticks for the absolute darkest areas of my drawings. I shave them down and apply with a cotton bud.I just get on with them. The black is the best I can achieve with graphite. Still reflective, despite being called matt, but perhaps less so than some brands.

Good to use, but challenging to sharpen.
It seems like a good idea to buy chunky pencil, but sadly none of my existing sharpeners will sharpen it. Still looking for a solution.

Shaves well on sandpaper
I like to use the dust i get from this to set the midtones on graphite drawings

the right way to sharpen it
For the last reviewer (Katy777) who was struggling to find a way to sharpen it - from Faber Castell's own web site: "Graphite crayons should be sharpened with a knife and not a sharpener".HTH
