Surprisingly good
I got this to upgrade my Daughter's PC. I have an FE 3080 in my main PC so could compare this against that.As the lowest cost 3080 card from a budget vendor Palit my expectations were not high. Yet just from opening the box I was surprised. The card is solid and feels well built. It is one of the slimmer models and fits the case well. The addition of an anti sag bracket is a bonus.Palit has an updated Bios out so check on their support pages for an update. It comes in a self installing file that is easy to apply.Performance wise the card did well, in line with the FE 3080 that I have in my PC (based on a few benchmarks). All teh 3080 cards are within a few % of each other. You have to run the Palit software (Thunder Master) to change the RGB colours, which have lots of options. For my Daughter pink was important. This software also lets you over clock the card, not that I did. One omission is that you can't undervolt using this software (if you don't know what that is, don't worry you are not missing much).Sound wise it is quiet and the fans do make a noise under heavy load. I would say the noise is not that loud and actually a nice noise on the ears.I would definitely buy this again.

Value based RTX 3080 that does a very good job
I upgraded from an RTX 2080 at the wrong time, the height of the GPU shortage and sadly a lot of people were taken advantage of especially gamers. Thankfully my RTX 2080 sold for an absurd price making the the price of the RTX 3080 palatable and the Palit GamingPro was the only one I could get my hands on.I had at the time upgraded my monitor to an Ultrawide 3440x1440p 144Hz and thus needed a bit more horse power for running my siim racing games, not only at the higher resolution but with higher FPS. The RTX 3080 is perfect for this scenario as it can drive Ultrawide monitors and does have a lot of performance available. This Palit GamingPro is really a 3 slot design though it is not a wide GPU and will fit in most cases. The construction is excellent with a metal backplate and metal bracing throughout and with 3 fans. Temps are more than fine averaging about low to mid 70's degrees under load. Whilst the cooling is not in the Strix or MSI Suprim range, it is more than acceptable and more importantly so was the price.I have now had it for quite some time and it has given me no issues at all. Frequencies are always in the 1900Mhz range thanks to the Nvidia boost algorithm and with overclocking I can push that to around 2000Mhz...Right now the prices of GPU's has dropped in readiness for the Nvidia 4000 series and the AMD 7000 series so it is possible to pick up a great deal and if you play 1080p/1440p high refresh or 4K 60Hz then the 3080 is a more than powerful enough GPU...you can pick up the 12GB model at roughly the 10GB model price and it is dropping down even further.Overall, this Pallit GamingPro model is very well made, does exactly what it says on the tin and will drive a huge improvement in gaming.

So far its been an excellent GPU, for a price
I was nervous ordering this after reading that the OC model was quite loud compared to other models and no reviews of this lower model to confirm if it has the same problem. I need not have worried, at full load I can't hear it and it stays under 80C comfortably at 45% fan speed. You can get it even cooler with Afterburner fan speed curve adjustment at the cost of making it slightly audible, but its not strictly necessary.Due to issues of 30x0 cards dying in New World (though I don't play it), I have zero plans to do any over-clocking as I don't want to overly stress the VRMs, happy with it at stock speeds. Was surprised to find it had a bracket included to reduce GPU sag, I found it AFTER installing so haven't used it yet, but its a nice touch.

Worried about heat/fanspeed? read this.
I got this card and was worried after reading reviews about the GPU heat and fan-speed sounding like helicopters taking off. I found it loud compared to my 1080, and after about 5 months of using it and tinkering with fan speed curves i decided to change the flow of fans in my case to optimize air flow. My temps dropped massively and it's now quiet. As a reference horizon zero dawn went from 83C to 64C, and the fan sound change was like night & day. Other games which are less demanding like overwatch used to run a bit warm for what it was at 70C and now are in the 50s and silent. I play at 2560x1440 with max frame rates and on ultra settings for any game.

Runs a bit warm
As good a 3080 as most but the memory temps run into the mid - high 90s even when just gaming. There are better 3080s with superior cooling available.

Faulty at first
Was given a really hot card it ran at 84 Celsius with a hot spot of 107…. Was really unhappy. But I got a partial refund from Amazon so I could get thermal paste and pads for free and now it runs at 50-60c with hot spot of 70-80

QC issues and terrible customer services.
Worked for a grand total of 3 hours and then cut out and started smoking. Card is now dead with no output. Trying to arrange an RMA but keep getting passed around back and forth between Amazon and Palit neither who can be bothered to arrange a repair. Sourced a 3070 and running in the same system with zero issues. Dud card from the factory i guess.
