iSpring UVF55FS Whole House UV Water Filter with Smart Flow Sensor Switch, 55W, 12 GPM

I had the water tested when I purchased a home with water supplied by a deep well on the property lot. The test identified several improvement opportunities. I did a bunch of research to determine the optimal equipment to make my water more safe. Based on that effort, I purchased and installed two iSpring filtration units: the WGB21B heavy duty dual filter system and the UVF55FS UV filter. I had the well water re-tested after both iSpring filter systems were implemented and the results showed that the iSpring filters made the water safe to drink which was great! The needed maintenance efforts have been very minor. I did need help at one point and reached out to the iSpring Technical Staff. John's advice and help was excellent which was VERY helpful!

I bought the UVT55FS about 18 months ago and i never got it working correctly. I am pretty sure the ballast was bad. With many other things going on, dealing with it was on the bottom of my todo list. So I didn't get back to it until a couple of months ago.While researching a replacement, I was surprised to see this unit rated so high. Since it was, I emailed support and told them my story. I was shocked when Nick reached out to me and said the product now had a newer and better ballast and he would send it out to me with a new bulb even though the warranty was obviously long gone. So I installed the new ballast and bulb and all is well.I waited about a month to review it, just to make sure it was still working correctly. And yes, it is working great!Thank you iSpring for the surprisingly great support!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:We wanted the one that came with the automatic timer so it didn't run continuously. During the installation I pinched the gasket they included, that goes between the flow sensor and the UV filter, tearing it. I emailed them and Julius responded and asked what I needed and sent it as promptly as can be expected. One thing I did find, is that the NPT fitting I put on the inlet side does not fit properly on the UV filter, I do not think its fittings are NPT, and it had a constant leak even after using lots of tape and even some pipe dope. I finally had to make another gasket like the one included for the flow sensor and that resolved the leak. I would call on them to start including two gaskets for the UV filter itself.

Took four hours to install. Well built. Seems to be working. Couple design components to consider1)the flow sensor to the battery pack cord could be significantly longer. I had to adjust the entire unit again so I couldn’t connect these two. Also, installing the brackets to concrete could be better if the internal holes were at least 1/2” to allow for bigger anchor bolts.Otherwise, good design. We’ll see how reliable it is with time.

The UV unit seems very well made. Installation was straightforward. No leaks after connecting all the fittings. The only installation issue was that both of the supplied clamps were slightly too small to securely clamp around the unit. I was able to jury rig different hangers. The one installation issue that found was that plastic (CPVC, PEX, etc) should not be used to connect to the UV unit since UV light will deteriorate plastic. I used flexible stainless steel. The ballast supplied is not the one mentioned in the instructions or the video. The switch is only OFF/ON. When ON, the small green light is visible, and the ballast registers 300, which is a countdown that turns off the light when water stops flowing through the unit.It was a little confusing to register the warranty since the QR code and website was not very helpful.I will have the water tested in 2 weeks to see if my positive coliform result is resolved. The state health department strongly recommended a UV sanitizer to correct this issue.

I've had this installed for a few months and my cat and myself notice a nice improvement when added to the existing system. The value is great for what it is. So far I've not had any issues. The bulbs work great after daily use. There's no odor to the water and doesn't affect flow. Decent product I would recommend to anyone wanting a little better quality water.

I have had this product for some time now, and I must say that is wonderfully fantastic!!!! The customer service is second to none, in particular Michelle who is a great service rep and an awesome representative of the the Ispring company. I ONLY buy Ispring products due to her diligence and Ispring high standards of excellence.I highly recommend that we as consumers, purchase from companies (like Ispring) and support their employees and company vi our business and purchasing dollars.

I have never had as much difficulty with leaking fittingS as I did with this unit. The brass fitting for the flow sensor would not stop dripping a slow drip. After three times refitting I finally stopped it with white pipe threading compound (a lot of it). I did not find the brackets particularly helpful as they seem to be a bit too small to fit unless you had it perfectly squared up. Finally, my ballast has a two position switch, not three as shown in the videos and there were no instructions provided on the operation of the switch. After some trial and error I figured out that when you see the 300 second countdown you are on auto.Overall it appears to work well. I would have given it 5 stars if proper instructions were provided and if the included two brass fitting rather than only one. ALSO CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO REGISTER IT FOR WARRANTY.
