Affordable, reusable full-block EP5 Sonic Defenders Max utilize a soft, adjustable, triple-flanged stem to seal the ear canal and block out potentially harmful sounds, providing an impressive Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 26dB. EP5s are an excellent choice for industrial, tactical, and general applications where maximum protection against continual noise levels is desired and the ability to hear ambient sounds or conversations is not a priority. EP5s are made from soft but durable, hypoallergenic polymer for all-day comfort and an extended product life (up to 6+ months, depending on usage and care). Their patented EarLock retention rings lock the earplugs in place, while soft, adjustable triple-flanged stems provide secure seals in the ear canals. A low-profile design allows EP5s to be worn with a mask, helmet, or supplemental hearing muffs, as well as makes them more comfortable for sleeping. EP5s come in three sizes-small, medium, and large-with mediums fitting most adults.

Best motorcycle hearing protection I've found
Over the past several years, I've tried a number of different methods of hearing protection under my motorcycle helmet. Many of them fall short for various reasons, whether it be poor fit, inability to fit well under the helmet, etc. Finally, the Surefire EP5 checks all the boxes for me. They fit perfectly in my ears, have no conflict with my helmet, seal well, and remain comfortable over a long period of time. Already recommending these to my biker friends.

Pretty Good
Bought for use @ shooting range.Noise cancelling earmuffs did not suffice on their own.One of my ears ordinarily rejects earplugs of any kind so I was not sure about these until they arrived. The design of this model is such that the plug portion grips the interior part of your outer ear. The result is that they do stay in. I chewed gum while wearing and they did, indeed stick.Have not tested them @ range yet but the sound cancellation tested at home is significant.Plan to wear muffs & these plugs together, as they are flush on head and will, indeed, fit. Do not foresee any problems.Update:I used these plugs with the same earmuffs, in combination, and the noise cancellation was perfecto. Highly recommend!

Wish they had different size ear plug opt
These are for my teen and the fit isn’t quite right. I wish they had different size ear plug.

All day quiet comfort
These are the best earplugs that I've found that block enough sound and are comfortable enough to wear all day on a construction site. They fit snugly in the ear canal and the fins help hold them in place even better. The only real downsides are that, first, they can be a little difficult to get into your ear canal, but I've found that to be true with nearly all earplugs and, second, that they do build up ear wax under the little rubber flanges which is kind of gross but, again, common with this style of plug and it's easy enough to clean them up. Overall they are great and the little plastic carrying case makes them convenient to always have on hand.

My Husband Was Not Impressed!
I bought a pair of these SureFire EP5 Sonic Defenders Max Full-Block Earplugs, triple flanged design, reusable for my Husband, in the size medium, color orange, 26dB.My Husband uses a lot of different Earplugs, Earmuffs, and other Hearing Protection. He has tried using these 26dB, SureFire EP5 Sonic Defenders several times now, but he really does not like these at all.For one, he said these are NOT any good if used by themselves, for shooting ANY shotguns! He shoots 12 gauge, 20 gauge and occasionally, his old .410-bore shotgun. For the rest of our guns, these again are a BIG NO NO, if only used by themselves, except they are OK for the .22 rifles. My husband is a retired auto & small engine mechanic. He still does a lot of machine work in his shop. He said these 26dB Earplugs are also NOT protective enough to use by themselves, at least for him, in his shop. These 26dB Earplugs are OK to use for the lawn mower, weed whacker and for various smaller chainsaws. Also, my Husband said these 26dB Earplugs work fairly well when he has to trim his dog's nails because she always starts yipping and griping like you are killing her as soon as she sees the nail clippers! (My dog is a good boy and he never makes a peep when I do his nails. Hummm... ;)As far as comfort:My husband said these actually bother his ears a bit and don't stay in too well.Maybe he need the small size? And, maybe that is why they are not working so well for him?He has a ton of different ear plug and ear muffs. even the small sized auto noise cancelling plugs, so he should know if these are good plugs or not. With him, he just thinks that a 26dB rating is too low and is a waste of money for earplugs.Anyway, the next time I buy any sort of hearing protection, I will be sure to buy ones with a much higher Noise Reduction Rating than just the 26dB.

Excellent
I've been using this brand and this product for over 6 years. I work on the air ramp of an airport and it is very noisy there (jet engines, etc.). Approximately 2 months ago had my hearing tested and my hearing tested normal so that definitely proves to me that these earplugs work. I wear the earplugs for at least 6 hours a day and they are very comfortable. I will keep on purchasing this product to protect my hearing and would recommend that you do the same.
