Strong, good compromises.
I am pretty happy with this umbrella. It seems to be well made and sturdy. The wind vent definitely helps for one this size. This is a good compromise between portability, size and strength. Full size golf umbrellas fold up to like 4 feet long which is pretty awkward to carry and store. It wont go in a car easily or on a shelf. However, the elements only have 1 hinge which gives it better strength and less likely to fail. Umbrellas of similar size that fold to 1 foot long are convenient (although fat), but the elements must be folded over two times, in other words, 4 separate segments with 4 total joints per segment. This means less strength and more likely to fail. This one has each element split into two segments such that each brace is two pieces. It folds down to under 2 feet with handle which is good enough for easy carrying, stores in a car easily, and can be put on a shelf, etc. Sure, its not as nice as the 1 foot fold ones but increased strength and reliability seems to be worth it to me, unless you carry a purse and have room and want to be able to store it there (which seems kind of unlikely as you wouldn't carry it around always, nor would want to get purse wet when stowing it). It auto-opens via spring loading, and the button causes it to untension and you manually close it. Not as cool as the auto-close ones but also less mechanisms to break... All in all, I am happy with it. Nice to have a quite large umbrella in a reasonable carrying size.

Nice umbrella but the wind…
This is a large umbrella. I was impressed by its size despite knowing the dimension. The navy blue is a nice color. This is extremely easy to open. With one push of a button it fully is ready for you to tackle the rain. It does fully protect me from the rain due to the design. It wraps down around me so to speak. My only issue is it did fly open in a rain & wind storm I was in. It’s not fully wind-proof. I feel it’s sturdy enough to be in certain wind speeds but if it’s excessively windy out this will fly upward. It took some effort to bring it back down to shape & I was afraid it was broken but it wasn’t. That’s my only heads up. It has 2 nice velcro straps to keep it secure when not using it. It comes with a storage bag but once I took it out upon receiving it & using it, it was too bulky to get back into the storage bag. It has a hanging string so I hang it on a nail in our garage. I feel it was well worth what I paid despite the strong wind issue. It’s a quality umbrella that keeps me dry. I do recommend.

42 inch travel umbrella - sturdy, wind-proof
This review is for the 42 inch 'travel' size version. This was ~my 4th repurchase. They are sturdy and long-lasting, but umbrellas are easy to lose! I always have one in 'stock' for when my husband inevitably loses his! It has a wind-proof design (a water-proof 'slit' in the canopy), which is a essential to stay dry in the gusty storms that we experience in the mid-West. Little hard to collapse down (takes 2 hands), but that means it opens with just 1 push of a button... Will keep buying while they are still available

Great Purchase
I love this umbrella. Perfect size for 1, maybe two. I take it with me everywhere. Use it all the time, rain or shine. The size is perfect for storage. I can easily carry it on my wrist. Closes and opens easily. Enough shade, and perfect for rainy windy days for one person. Works perfect.

One serious umbrella!
This is the umbrella you need when it’s seriously raining. It weighs almost a pound and a quarter, so it’s not something to stick in your pocket. It’s very well built, unlike light weight umbrellas that fit in your purse. I got the green with yellow edging, that stands out and is very visible. I think that’s important because in rain people have their heads down and may not notice the regular black umbrella. Don’t know what else to say, I like this umbrella a lot, but again, it’s not teeny tiny. On the other hand, it folds up very well considering its quality and size. I really recommend it.

Great compact umbrella with excellent customer service!
I have only had my umbrella for a few days, but so far it works great! I travel quite a bit and am on the road more than 50% of the time. Because I travel so much a very compact umbrella is important to me. The EEZ-Y is lightweight and compact. It fits in my backpack, or my suitcase, without taking up too much room. A golf umbrella is really good for providing a large footprint and keeping the rain off of you, but they aren't exactly small and don't pack well. The footprint of the EEZ-Y is significantly smaller comparatively, but it's perfect for walking the crowded streets of NYC when it's raining without hitting all of the other umbrellas on the sidewalk. You might be able to squeeze two people under it as long as you both don't mind getting a little wet, and you really like each other. Otherwise, for me, it's just about perfect. I read several reviews where people complained that they could only get a few fingers on the handle. It is definitely a small, nubby handle. If you have big hands, you won't be able to get more than two or three fingers on it. I have fairly normal-sized hands and I can grip it with my thumb and three fingers no problem. The grip is also rubbery and provides plenty of leverage and grip to stabilize the umbrella. However, if you want a larger grip you may want to look at a different sized umbrella. Again, I was going for something that is compact. The one-touch button for opening and closing the umbrella works just fine. Keep in mind that when you close the umbrella that it doesn't fold all the way back down. The button will close the canopy, and then you must manually collapse the umbrella. This is under tension, but unless you have problems with arthritis or some other physical disability this shouldn't be an issue. You could even push it into the floor if it was too difficult, but I don't find it to be an issue. I also have been amazed at EEZ-Y’s customer service! When I registered my umbrella I made a note that I thought the color was a bit off, and that the grey looked a bit too green. EEZ-Y promptly arranged to have the umbrella replaced with a different color – without me asking! They have been extremely polite and responsive to emails throughout the process. Top notch customer service! Other than the grey color being slightly off I have yet to find any faults with the construction, materials, or operation of the umbrella. So far, I am really enjoying the umbrella and the service offered by EEZ-Y. I would definitely recommend this to someone!
