I laughed and laughed and laughed at the chairDib?...dibchair?.... and that was just the beginning!
Vasquez did it again! He never fails to plaster a huge smile on my face, as i continue the well written hilarious adventures of Zim & his quirky dumbfounded sidekick Gir!I'll admit- when i found out that Invader Zim was getting discontinued from nickelodeon after only two mere seasons, i was extremely disappointed and heartbroken that i would no longer hear from my favorite pessimistic protagonist. But as soon as i heard Jhonen was continuing the series via comic format, i was super pumped to see his new work, no longer being restricted by nickelodeon's strict terms and policies, and i can certainly say; i am far from disappointed! The series is back, and honestly better than ever, still keeping in touch with its origin of somewhat dark humor, it still maintained family friendly and full of funny and quirky jokes, keeping me all more than entertained! The illustrations were beautifully drawn in Vasquez signature gothic style, keeping in sync with the same style from the now canceled show. This book definitely earned a laugh from me and my family especially at Dib's first appearance in the book, as dibchair? chairdib? i don't know, but i certainly don't want to spoil it. All i can say is it was worth every penny, and i cannot wait for Jhonen to continue his marvelous work.Overall the book came in the estimated time frame, and came in perfect condition.you will certainly hear from me again!

I just can't get enough of that Zim. I don't know how many times I've read this and re-read this, but I know I'll be back for more. If you love the cartoon, you will love this. Totally different storylines, same characters.

The Zim Your Remember and, Maybe, Still Love
While looking for older Vasquez work, I happened upon this the other day and was excited to see it in the world. I've been a fan of Zim since the first episode--having to setup an automatic record on the family VCR in order to see it--and have recently been watching it with my step-son.Of course, with a show that's so animated in its animation, I wondered how it would fully translate to a more static form. However, due to the inclusion of so many original crew, I figured it was worth a shot.In short, it felt like Zim to me, and maybe a hint darker, but that's not too shabby in my eyes, either. The dialogue is spot on and made it easy to "hear" the original voice cast as I read. The stories are a perfect blend of nonsense and darkness. Again, it's the same old Zim you remember. So, if you enjoyed the show, I'd be surprised if you didn't enjoy the comic, too.

but it's so good I may have to keep it for myself
I got this as a gift for my brother, but it's so good I may have to keep it for myself! I watched the show when it aired and was thoroughly disappointed when it stopped. This volume picks up right where the show left off and perfectly matches the tones, styles and characters of the show. You'll find yourself reading in each character's voice in your head!

Not as good as the show, or JTHM, but worth a read
Pretty good, but nothing will replace that show. Jhonen's dark af humor translated well enough to the page in JTHM, but Zim just doesn't make the leap quite as well. Probably just because we all met him in animation, and it's hard to take that step backwards. I know the Futurama and Simpsons comics don't compare to their shows, either. Still - it's the best you're gonna get! No more Zim on TV, so get your fix here! You won't be quoting it like the show, but if you're dying to see how your imaginary friends are doing (dooming), here it is.

Zim is back! You can't lose this opportunity of seeing him again!
For a great fan of the mighty Zim, this comic is so fantastic! Zim is back, so you'll be happy to know that many of the former people who were behind this TV show are now behind this comic! We all miss the TV series, of course. We all miss the voice acting and animations, and we all want them back, but I think it's okay if we can resurrect our childhood through these comics. I recommend you to purchase the volumes instead of the individual comics. Volume 2 coming soon :)I would like to thank to our lord Jhonen Vázquez for bringing back such an amazing cartoon. Hope these comics have an excellent rating among fans.Long live Invader Zim!

Awesome for any Zim fan.
If you liked Invader Zim then these are a must own. There is pretty much the same sense of humor and dialogue themes going on here. It also helps if you remember how all of them talked and sounded, because you can really see how they would deliver these lines. And the artwork is just tremendous.
