Bayside Candy Gum Drops Jelly Candy, 2Lbs

I have had a gumdrop tree (clear plastic with "branches") for probably 7 years. It is a tradition for me to decorate it with the grandkids. It originally came with oversized gumdrops but I could never find any like them (other than from that catalog and they were ridiculously expensive). After that used fruit slices from a chain that carries discounted stuff. That chain has pretty much disappeared, so turned to Amazon. These are perfect! Larger than a normal gumdrop. Lots of sugar coating, so each is very shiny. The gumdrops are fresh so stick easily to the tree. The 5 grands and I happened to sample several of the gumdrops and they were great! I did have a few that were undersized or broken--but those tasted great! I will be ordering these every year! If you are looking for the gumdrop of your youth, these probably taste like you remember. These are larger than the gumdrops of my youth--but I prioritize taste over a perfect physical match.

Purchased this bag for a specific purpose as part of a nostalgic event. Super fresh, pleasantly chewy gum drops. I figured they would be old, gummy and hard but these were very soft and yummy!

These candies do not taste like the gum drops I’ve had in the past. When they arrived they were very hard. The taste was like chemicals. They certainly were not soft and chewy as gumdrops are. And they are small compared to regular gum drops. Sorry but not for me…

They are nice, flavor very good, but I needed the small ones not these giants that are the size of a quarter. I make Gum Drop Bread for the holidays for the inlaws... these were too big so I had to cut them up. Not bad at all, just way to big for what I needed them for.

What flavor is white supposed to be? I’m just curious because the flavor I least enjoy is the white variety. Not just these, but also white jellybeans, white spice drops, etc. And what variety do most candy makers fill their bags with? White!!! And secondly, black/licorice. I don’t know what ingredients are used to make each flavor, but does it cost more to make the red, green, orange, yellow, etc??? Everyone I know leaves the white in the bag (and the black also, but I don’t mind black licorice). So that’s my only complaint—way too many whites in the bag. In my 2 pound bag, when all were gone except the white, I’d guess there were about 15 still in the bag. If you look at the little sample picture that they show for this product, notice how they only show ONE white and it’s surrounded by all of the colorful flavors? Every candy maker does this! If they think white is such an awesome, high-demand flavor, then change the picture to show 7 white and three good flavors. But you know they won’t do that because they know we wouldn’t buy a bag of mostly white. These candies arrived fresh and soft. The fruity flavors were good, and I think you know my opinion by now of the white flavor (whatever flavor it’s supposed to be). I would buy these again because they tasted great and were nice and fresh.

My husband likes them. He thinks these taste the most like the ones he ate growing up.

These were large gum drops with very inconsistent sugar coatings. Several candies were misshapen with parts broken off. The dark ones I thought were grape flavored were all licorice, very disappointing.
