Yes, you need this tool.
Ok, I was dubious about this product. The reviews weren't great and I though 'why do I need another Cricut tool?' So I dithered for ages and this week I wanted to do some foiling on a project so I bought it.WOW. I can see why the reviews are negative, and it is a bit of faffing about but the results are so worth it. I have a Cricut Maker, so not sure how well this works on the Explorer or Joy.I am also a subscriber to Jennifer Maker (American) who has some brilliant tips on how to use this product, and thanks to her I got fantastic (not perfect) results the first time so I recommend you watching her video (I wish I got commission!) I will be buying more foil and using it on a lot more projects. As usual with Cricut, experimenting is key. I have uploaded a photo, but it doesn't do it justice. Still all things being expensive with Cricut, I would buy this on sale as I did.

Cricut foiling tool
I'm new to cricut, but invested in the foiling tool. The first one I did I stopped it part way through as I didn't quite have it trapped down flat enough, and also didn't quite line it up right. This time I lined it up better but still it as it did the image over part of the tape, (so I drew in where it missed).Apart from that it is straight forward to use, and I'm still getting used to using the cricut machine. The image isn't for anything in particular but just wanted to try it out.I used the thick nib and increased the pressure to, (although I'm not sure if it dragged the foil more than if it was left in normal).Over all for best results, the foil must lay as flat as possible.I am impressed, its fun to do.

Yep - works!
Adds a great dimension to card making and other crafts. The only limitations are your imagination and the size of the foil sheets. Yes, not the cheapest process (per sheet) but you won't be using this on absolutely everything. Great for personalising. Note though that even the widest tool still only makes quite a fine line, so this system is for adding text and squiggly bits: it won't do blocks of metallic design in the way that a hot foil press works. You can get fancy branded tape to hold the foil in place on the mat, but standard washi works just fine. It is all a bit faffy. Make sure that you keep the foil very carefully as it will scratch and leave gaps in your foiling. The sheets are like handling spider webs. Good addition to your crafting stash - providing of course that you already have a Cricut!

Absolutely brilliant but shame you can’t use it on mobile Design Space
The media could not be loaded. Design came out really well even though I hadn’t secured the foil on all edges so it kept wrinkling up. Totally my error as it does say to secure all sides! The maker 3 did a great job though and the outcome was better than I expected! Really easy to use once I realised you can’t use design space on mobile/iOS each is the biggest drawback. Not cheap but really good quality and easy to swap between the different size nibs

Happy with purchase
Works well and adds an extra bit of glam to homemade cards. Used in a cricut maker and works well.

Most wanted for my wedding invites
It worked and done its job. But it takes practice and quality materials and I do say worked great on cricut foil but not 3rd party foil. Get it on sale days

Exactly as described
Bought for my daughter who loves to Cricut. She hasn't used it yet because she can't decide what she wants to make with it. Lol
