Q: Will this work with elevated dogit water pump?

Yes they are all same water pump some are strong some little weaker depending on your water fall size

Q: The pump is flashing a blue light but not functioning, what does this mean?

It indicates that the light is malfunctioning. Does the water circulate? Did you insert the new pump without water in the bowl of the fountain? I would suggest that the fountain be drained and rinsed out. Then insert the pump into the housing. Change out the sponge filter. Then make sure the pump is securely in place; fill the fountain with distilled water or filtered water. Then plug the fountain into the receptacle. Ensure the connections are secure. Q: Can i use this on a catit fountain?

I am not familiar with the catit fountain, but have used it as a replacement for the one that died out in my dog fountain, so I believe they are at least somewhat inter-changeable, but no guarantees…best to find the original brand replacement, if that is an option. Just my personal feeling, hope this helps!

Short answer: Yes, it IS water level, more or less. They usually have a small sensor that you can sometimes see on the side of the pump. It's aimed towards the clear opening (that long slit that allows you to see the water level) so it might work with light refraction, or just light. Others, however, are metal--they look like a little metal nipple, same as above, on the side--that probably uses an electrical impulse when water is either present or not present. If it gets below a certain level, the signal will activate or deactivate, causing the pump to shut off. I'm not sure that's very clear, but it's the best I can offer at the moment. Have a great day!
